but really prefer this look:

Of course it would be powered by a 1.6l miata motor sitting in the garage.

I had to replace that **** because the wheels were different sizes

I would drive that **** every day.

Where can I find one of these?

Here's a good project in Fort Worth.

Not a bad price either if it's got little/no rust.

Yeah. The 510 has been popular since they were new. Drop in that 1.6, greddy upgraded with an intercooler, would be very nice. They are hard to find in good shape for reasonable money though. You can pretty much do a BMW 2002 for the same money. Another car that looks good with real performance mods.

Those were insanely fast back in the day. We never got any 2 doors here (only 4 doors) but they were really, really fun to drive. My brother in law used to own of the few.

Another curious bit; they were called Datsun 510 SSS back then. Nissan had not changed its name yet.

Don't know if I could bring myself to put anything other than a 4AGE in it, though.

Those sr20 swaps look so damn clean in that engine bay. A 1.6 bp would be right at home.

The 510s are great, however, finding one that is not a rust bucket anymore is pretty difficult.

Good friend has a 510 4-dr he hopes to build... Sometime before he dies.

He's got an JDM SR20T waiting for it, and many too many projects before it.

Swedes can be great but they are heavy pigs. Seen a couple really nice builds. One that HPDE's around here. Classy older car. Tough to want a car that heavy though after driving the Miata. Light = might!
