Default I thought SRT-8 **** was supposed to be fast.

For real. It was an auto, but this ******* had a srt8 challenger. On Hwy 90, i was heading south, and he was going slow. Everytime i went to pass him he floored it. I guess being passed by a boosted fagette car would make his peter shrink even more. So finally i tossed it down to 4th and schooled him in miataism. Probably about 4 car lengths before I decided that 90-100ish was all I needed to go. That is all. Oh, maybe not. 6.1 Hemi's sound like ***. Why did Dodge **** up such a sexy car?

They're nothing special. Way too heavy for their own good.

Nice kill though. Show those "manly" cars whats up lol

The interwebz says:

6.1L 425 hp V8
4144 lbs
0-60 ~ 4.9s
0-100 ~ 16.5s

Someone is full of ****.

they trap 108 IIRC

Also don't forget they have HORRIBLE gearing for high speed highway pulls. From a stop it would be a whole lot quicker.

SRT 8 makes 425 flywheel and weighs 4144. That is 9.75 lb/hp.

95 miata with 13psi of boozt. Probably 250ish Flywheel and 2290 pounds. That is 9.16 lb/hp.

I win. Plus, I am not saying it would have been different from a stop this was a 60ish roll.

Seriously? 16.5 0-100 with a 4.9 0-60.

I think it is 0-100-0 he meant.

I found quarter times of 13.1@108. Besides, I stated that it sounded like an auto. I was fully expecting to get beaten of not just stay with him to **** him off. I am sure even the auto would stomp my *** out of the hole. I would either spin or destroy my 5speed. Hustler is right about the gearing too. I am sure if buffon were to row his raft out to find one, he would be more than satisfied about my findings. 18psi beat me on my first reply.

Yeah I left out a zero. I was runnning out of the office. IIRC only Autos were made. I have a faint memory of Top Gear episode in which the Challenger was featured along the Cadillac V and the ZR1.

******* dont **** with my raft.*

*The very FEW times it has been able to run.

If the 2 cars are that close whoever gets the jump wins. He had an auto so when he decided you had floored it, there's an additional delay in the downshift. The SRT8 probably has a higher top speed so if the race kept on going he'd probably have passed you at some point.

^^ Nice kill. Sounds like you'd hang with a new 5.0 Mustang.
5.0's would probably freight train you after 90, but lower speed rolls could be close if you put 4 cars on an SRT-8 Challenger.

(MotorTrend data)
0-60: mid-4 seconds
1/4 mile: 12.7s @ 111 mph.
0-100 mph: 10.3 seconds
Top speed: 155 mph (ECU limited)
Sweet *** deal: $30495 ("base" 5.0 GT)

you can get a 6-speed option for an additional $1000. They come standard with auto, but you need to pay for the manual. retarded.

I don't care what wikipedia says, i was going to buy one when they came out, test drove a SRT8 with a 6-speed, but when I found out about the gas guzler tax and how a manual was an additional 1k, and how it really wasn't 'WOW' fast, i took my 45k else where.

I bet with a 6MT and some mods it would be great. The challenger is sex on wheels. I would like to run a new 5.0 although it would probably ravage me. But this things exhaust.... man that guy had crap exhaust.

Strange. I thought Hwy-90 was an East-West roadway...

(factual) Kidding aside, the Dodge is too heavy for its own good. Brake fade is generated quickly and hard cornering is not for the faint of heart. However, the Hemi generates enough grunt stock versions were hitting the 155mph limiters at the Texas Mile. - The beastie would greatly benefit from a diet.

srt8 jeep is fast. I couldn't pull on one before. He was behind me so he may have been holding back too. That was when I was at 195whp.
