I've been smoking cigars for many years and I think I would like to buy a tobacco pipe. Anyone smoke one? Any good flavored (with a good aroma) tobacco to recommend? We took the Miatas to Deals Gap last weekend and burned quite a few cigars. While we were in a cigar shop there were several pipes for sale but I couldn't find any that I really liked. I definitely don't want something that looks like a refer pipe or something Sherlock Holmes would be smoking.

I just gave up cigarette smoking after picking it up last year (after having quit 5yrs prior)...and considered an occasional pipe smoke a good alternative.

My grandpa used to...so I'm looking for a pipe like his.

 

Yeah, mine did too. I wouldn't mind having one of his old pipes or his kick *** pipe lighter. It looked like a large bolt and you pulled the two ends apart to strike it and reveal the flame in a round hole in the middle. I did a search but came up empty on finding one like it.

Hardest part for me is determining what the good tobacco is and how much that's going to run monthly for the occasional smoke.

 

I quit smoking cigarettes about two weeks ago and I've never felt better/more like a pansy-*** bitch (Yeats). While I don't see myself sucking on the paper dick again any time soon, I do miss it but not enough to start sucking on a wooden pipe like some sort of pompous John Bull *******.

If you'd like a high unlike any other, use a bong legally. Buy some pipe tobacco and pack a bowl. That ****'ll knock you flat on your ***.

my dad smoked a pipe for a while. while i can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke, pipe smoke is actually kind of pleasant.

When I was a child in Dublin, I apprenticed with a butcher on Camden St. and he smoked a pipe like a fiend in the mornings. It was a great smell compared to the stale odor of cigarette smoke.

 

I've never been a smoker, never touched any kind of tobacco or anything to my lips, and I HATE cigarette smoke, but actually am quite fond of pipe smoke smells. Wish I knew more people who smoked a pipe just for the atmosphere smells. Always a nice background odor, not in your face.
