I wanna run 10s in my 1.6

I'm not sure this is going to be the guy for it, but I wish more people would make a serious attempt at drag racing miatas. I know they're not ideal for the job, but I really think a 10 second pass on a BP drivetrain miata is not unrealistic at all.
I was running consistent mid 11's in a gutted NA with 1.9-2.0 60's. That was in really warm weather and certainly some power left in the tune. If I had any idea what to do suspension wise or launch wise, and with better conditions I feel like it could have been close. There are a lot of cars on here making way more power that I ever have too.

I guess "serious attempt" wasn't really what I meant. I know they're not a good platform for drag racing and building an all out drag miata is probably dumb. There's just plenty of +350whp BP miatas out there and I think they'd be capable of running 10's with relatively little effort if more people cared to try it.
Of course 10's aren't all that impressive when you can bolt a basic FI kit and a tire on an auto 5.0 Mustang and your grandma can run 9's in it, but it's still respectable.

The track folks won't really try it because hard drag launches abuse a stock 6 speed quite a bit. No point really breaking something that's already a wear item in a discipline you're not all that interested in to begin with ya know.
I'm not sure if Pat has run many 1/4 miles. I think the track he goes to is an 1/8 mile setup, no?
Then there's this thing : Fastest turbo miata

Hell 13 years ago I was doing consistent 11.10s @ 125 on an R6. And that was without having the front strapped, the bike lowered, etc.
A geared, slammed liter bike will do 9s.

Plenty of fun drag racing a Miata, it's only $25 to make a few passes at the least. Not to mention the humiliation factor, when you eat some "modern muscle car" and spit it out your tail pipe. Nice log data too, running so long in 4th gear, I originally went just to do some tuning.
