In hopes of not cluttering the thread to oblivion... what kind of kit are we talking here to add battery and electric power to something?
would love this for my commute. the speeds on the commute are about 30mph tops. a cheap bike on kijiji with enough stopping force (discs) with 1" tires is what I would love to ride. |

EDIT - You're absolutely right Joe. It's just funny. "For a mere $6k, you can have this Specialized Turbo which will do 20 MPH and travel a dozen miles before needing a recharge. It's revolutionary!" :giggle:

Digging the Vader look.
Goes without saying, and I know you do, but dress reflectively. Holy shit people walk around my neighborhood here in Fayetteville, dressed head-to-toe in dark colors and there aren't many streetlights. Then they walk three abreast on the side of the street and if you didn't see them in time, then you're the asshole. We've talked about this already Trey and I know you wear several bright items.. but I guess I needed to vent. |

Fortunately, I just found a set of 6700 dark gray brakes to match my crank for $60 shipped. That ugly rear derailleur is staying until I switch to 11-speed in a few years, unless a DA RD falls out of the sky. When I rode at night I had a "crossing-guard" X that goes over my back, lflashy light on the helmet, flashy light on the post, hi-viz gloves, 700 lumen headlight, but I'm not sure that I'll ride at night again for a while. During the day I usually wear black kit with a single white stripe and always a flashing light on the post. For anyone looking at a CAAD10, the new brake cable routing is awful unless you're an Aussie. I'm finishing-up breakfast, going to put down the mud, and then go for a 50-mile ride on my Texas climbing route through the country. |

The cable routing is as god intended. All the euros run rear brake on the left. I do because of my motorcycle background, front brake on the right.
I went and rode dirtbikes one weekend with the TX crew and when I got back on the bicycle things were very sketchy. Whenever the bars turn more than 60* or so, the housing kinks, so I left it long as hell and it looks like shit. Good thing everything is all black and it's hard to see. |
Okay, real talk. Do I want to keep the red wheel stickers, switch to black/dark gray, or switch to green since it's a Cannondale?

Better pics of my new ride:
Trey's CAAD10, son. - Imgur Here is a small image for you, because I know everyone wants to see this majestic steed: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1391201020 |
Looks nice and classy... black is the best color for everything.
18 lbs isn't bad- a few pounds won't matter, except for in the wheels. |

This is the crack I asked the city to fix, which motivated the city manager's office to laugh in my face:

This thread should never be so serious that people are deleting posts. Please, come on. It sounds to me like someone is upset because they're not riding a CAAD10.

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1391470419 This bike is approved by Joe Perez and the committee for Joe Perez for bike czar. |
