Win.

It'll be decently quick and has a great sleeper effect to it.

I'm not down with that. I hate Insights, they remind me of a hybrid version of a CRX. I'm also not a wrong wheel drive fan. The K20 swap is hot though. In fact, if I could put one in my miata very easily, I'd be set. You could make 200whp NA with simple bolt ons, and I kinda think the K20 engine is a little lighter than a BP Miata engine.
I do believe, however, that the K20 was destined to be swapped into the Toyota MR2. I mean think about it...a RWD car that might be lighter than a Miata, with a Honda V-tec K series engine. 200 WHP without touching the internals, or adding forced induction, just naturally aspirated awesomeness.

They must not handle too bad...

Edit: Just read that the insight was on RA1s and the miata was on azenis.

It doesn't hurt that Guillermo in the Insight is a performance driving instructor in the Toronto Canada area either. I would imagine he could drive Shannonville blindfolded.

Not still a hybrid.

But it is a K-series engine in an aerodynamic, lightweight shell. That's point enough for me.

If I was the owner, I'd get one of the carpool stickers that FL hybrid owners can apply for. Save me some toll money while poppin' VTEC.

without batteries aren't they like sub 2k lbs or something? I'm thinking it'd be a pretty quick ride.

battery's got to be a good 1-200lbs on those. so with the added weight of the k20 minus battery you get what, like 2k lbs total.
10lb/hp and 30+ mpg aint bad at all

i know drag racers love Insights as they are so light stripped down. something like being the lightest fwd platform you can get.

Most US bound atoms don't have the k20 or the 6speed.
They come with either a built or stock ecotec+heaton.
Had one at buddy's shop a few months back.

Its really not a car either. no roof and plastic seats less comfortable than a damn log. you want a "car" car with rwd k20 get a swapped elise
