Default The Joe Perez New Job Speculation Thread

I don't really think he's going to have a gender reassignment.

What do you think he's going to do in lovely Santa Clara, CA?

Seriously, guys, he talked about the interview. Well, not the interview, per se, but he mentioned visiting a certain company... nothing about his description of the visit sounded like field work for his current job.

what I hear from the inside is that they pay really competetively to get you in the door but don't give big raises.

still, this was 2005 and would have been pretty sweet.

isnt that the same as any job?

i mean i never expect a big raise ever once working, so it's not to move up the ladder by getting new jobs every now an again.

I know you're not saying that all companies are the same to work for, that they all use the same techniques to attract good candidates and keep them....

Well let's see, my last job gave me a 1.3% raise that didn't even cover the new payroll taxes of 2013, let only any cost of living increase. My new job was a 33% pay raise over that...

my wife has received almost a 10% pay increase every year for the last 7 years.

(prior to that was lower)

she's going to out-earn me in two years at this pace.

Santa Clara = Silicon Valley? Apple seems the most obvious. Any number of start-ups or other smaller tech firms would also be plausible possibilities.

Alternatively, what major communications or broadcast firms have bases there?

I wonder how long Joseph Stalin will avoid this thread?

Also I have heard the opposite about Fapple: a few friends of friends cannot stop raving about how they're getting raises and bonuses left and right. I dunno
