I actually ate lunch with this guy last week. He was the second owner of my VFR, and also an Aggie.

He *seemed* pretty well planted...must be a different guy, same name, because he had a CRV, not a Mariner.

Nm, just checked, Chris Conrey...phew.

370whp Ford Escape platform SUV (rated 13th in it's class)...yeah right

Lol. I IMed him until 2am. He went on and basically said his motor is rated for 360HP in other applications (where? Lol) and that it's just "held back by the computer, to keep the engine from blowing up". He liked to point out that every suv he's had likes to "haul in a straight line", and that I should also beware of his friend's Scion with 220HP. OMG!

I couldn't get it through his thick skull that 370HP wasn't possible without forced induction. This is a lost cause.

Youtube is like the Myspace of the social video hosting world. I can't complain though. Those 'tards made me $2.76 richer so far this month.

You let them advertise on your video, they pay you. Of course the video needs to have a **** ton of views for YT to offer it.

You watch this video, and see the google ad. I make money.

Once a video hits 20k or so views, I got an email from Youtube asking to joing their partnership program. It then has me link my Youtube account to a Google Adsense account. They start placing google ads in the video, I make a profit. Of course, they make more profit. It's been advertising for less than month now, but it's paid for a gallon of gas already. I think the rate is 1 cent for every 500 "impressions" or something like that. I'll look a little closer later when I'm at home.

Curb Weight: 3549 lbs. / 240HP = 14.78 : 1

Curb Weight: 2264 lbs. / 292HP = 7.75 : 1

I'll pick the SUV!

Well, a Mariner is basically an Explorer, and those did come with a Windsor V8 at one point, which can make an easy 370WHP if you go with forced induction or a really good heads/cam package and a 331 or something.

So if by 'makes 360 in stock form and just needs a computer' he means 'needs the V8 from about 12 model years ago with serious modification', then he is absolutely correct

He's speaking of his 2010 Mariner, that he "dropped a couple G's in". The Mariner is more like the Escape than the Explorer. They never, ever offered V8s in it and were introduced in 2005.

His first response to my command was "it's loaded so it's got a way bigger engine". Way bigger meaning a .5L upgrade from the base inline 4 engine. Lol.

Could be. But hey, the Noble makes like 650HP from an old Duratec circa 2004, and all its has is custom Cosworth heads, twin turbos, and specialized EMS. Nothing major really. His is a 2010, which menas all it needs is a Hypertec and a Turbonator! And being so much smaller, it will be even lighter! Watchout Corvette! Beware Mustang! Step off Evo! Therez a new dawg in this muthafuckin hizzy!

I bet he's referring to the new Fusion SHO engine. It's rated at 365hp in twin-turbo form. If the block in the Fusion and the block in his Mariner share the same family, that's where he's getting his information.

That's what I think, although they just share the Duratec designation, not the essential Direct-injected Ecoboost part. I need to swap an Ecoboost V6 into my Miata.

They're pretty selective about the videos they make the offer on. Maybe they don't like yours?

Hey peeps, add me on Facebook. I need more Miata-driving E-thugging friends. lol.
