Yup that was his. Sorry for keeping everyone out of the loop, better late than never. Its was all kinda shocking to all of up in the ESMTB. Many of the members have become inactive, or loss interest since the incident. It's also the reason I sold my car. In the Saab its a little easier to control my lead foot. If you guys want any rememberance stickers there will be some availible this week. Alot of us are getting them as a simple reminder to slow down.

It was the night of one of our Club Meets, I took him for a ride in my Begi Stage 3 Miata, and then we all departed. Then in the morning we got word he didn't make it home. What happend was that he was getting on his car, and (This is based on what the trooper said.) Someone changed lanes in front for him. He swerved to miss, and clipped the bumper of their car, and went offroad into a palm tree. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

RIP Cody. 9/January/2008
Thanks for the update.. I read a bunch of his threads when I was researching about installing 01+ head lights on a 99. He had some good info. Sorry he is gone.

Sorry to hear.

Had 2 friends during Universaty that died in an M3 on a clear summer night. It takes that "It will never happened to me" - feeling and crushes it really bad, doesn´t it?

Yea I miss my bike everyday but my mother is happy that I am not riding daily in Atlanta traffic anymore, for that reason.

oh man, that sucks. :( Sorry to hear about that.

I have to admit I feel very vulnerable in the miata. It's a little better since the rollbar, but I know that if I'm ever in a wreck involving a big rig, I'm not walking away from it. :(

I walked away from it in my FMIIed '90. I was at a red light. Light turned green. I started into the intersection. 18 wheeler was coming right at me at about 60 mph. He blew his light. I couldn't see him because there was an SUV in the lane next to me. He saw it and slammed on his brakes. I closed my eyes and the rigs rear wheels ran right over the front of my Miata. Peeled the hood off, flat spotted both front wheels about 3 inches and flattened both front tires. Ripped the driver front fender off and carried it about 200 feet (where he stopped). My car spun 3 times. My head hit the seam of the soft top where the window meets. Cut my head up a bit, like 15 stitches. When my car stopped, I stumbled out of the car to the curb in a daze with blood running down my face.

This was at lunch time at the intersection of MD rt 1 and MD 175 in Jessup.

A bunch of people ran out to me to see if I was alright. They all said, "if you were a second earlier, you woulda been T-boned and dead meat".

Sorry to hijack, but the Miata is a pretty stout car in an impact. Sure it's small, but our ability to avoid an accident negates any negatives of the size.

Anyways, sorry to hear about Fritch. I remember his posts. It could happen to any of us at any time, sadly.

Man sorry to hear that, glad you're okay from that wreck. I have to say in a way I slightly agree about the ability to avoid accidents but you can't avoid everything. Today in fact I was on my way to work and some lady started pulling right out in front of me. Her head was clearly visible as she came around the corner into view, stopped at the stop sign, looked to the right, then pulled right on out without ever looking to the left. Had I not seen the entire thing coming, or had she been maybe 2 seconds later, I'd have hit her. Then I'd have a body to dispose of.
