Took Dudi to the vet yesterday. Got the results. Hes got hyperthyroid as you guys figured on last page. Also hes got early signs of kidney disease. Apparently dealing with the hyperthyroid issue will make the kidneys worse so i'm clueless on what to do. Gotta talk more to the vet later.
re: kidney disease- Our last cat (Isabelle in this thread) was diagnosed with terminal renal issues and given 6 months or so to live at 15 and prescribed the KD food which is low protein and supposedly eases up on kidney duty. After reading up, I went with the argument that what the cat really needs is the protein and less junk/filler (which is in the KD). I made the switch to the high dollar (which happened to be similar in price to the KD) organic/holistic, no filler foods and she lived to 20+. The best deal going for this kind of food IMO is Triumph. Of course ymmv, just throwing it out there.
