I feel you. One of our cats has been vomiting and refusing to eat. After almost $300 in vet bills it turns out she had an intestinal blockage. We eventually found something in the litterbox not of this world. We have to give her oral antibiotics and we are scratched on arms and legs. Fortunately, shes being back to normal now but we still have to give her the meds. We now wrap her in a towel when we administer the medication. It is a lot easier to do.

Here is a pic of a friend's tee shirt that I thought was cool.

Default speaking of kittens

Isabelle hasn't eaten since Sunday and doc says nothing can be done for a 20 year old cat. She was a cute kitten.

Default the last supper

Yeah- never had a cat live this long. I think 17 was the longest. Our last one died at just 13. She was making some strange meows the night before as she was laying on the kitchen floor "broken kitty style" - front is upright with legs forward while rear half is laying on it's side. Nothing unusual outside of not wanting to move around and the strange sounding meows. Told my wife that she'd better say good-bye that night. Next morning we found her curled up under the dining room table like she was sleeping. Forever. Decided to show her to our 4 year old (at that time) to say good-bye and the first words out of her mouth: "Does this mean we can get a dog?"

Her meow is dying. Sounds more like a faint cry now. I just ran out and got some chicken breasts. The last thing she ate was some water/stock left over from making chicken for tacos. Definitely looks as though she's winding down this time.

m2cupcar, that sucks. I know it's a hard thing to do, but have her put down. They trust you to take care of them, and that is the best thing to do.

I never cried so hard as when I put down my 19 year old buddy. But it was time.

She's my wife's baby, so ultimately it's up to her unless she defaults to me to make the call. Isabelle wouldn't touch the chicken stock. She's still getting up and moving around between naps.

Side story- When Isabelle was 4 we were letting her outside since she never left our yard. Then one day she did. And she didn't return. We posted signs the next day. Never got any worthy response, but plenty of viewings of cats that looked nothing like her. Then 11 days after she went missing, one of our elderly neighbors knocked on the door. This lady swore she saw our cat four doors down in a backyard that was on a corner. I went down there to find two dogs in the yard. Called for her- no cat, no surprise. Came back home and an hour later the same lady knocks on the door and said, "She's out there right now." So I head back down there, get to the fence and start calling. Got a meow, and then she comes scratching out of the base of some shrubs. She came over to the fence but wouldn't get within a foot of it. Turns out the fence was electrified. I figure she must have been shocked on the way in and that kept her trapped. Somehow she survived in that backyard for 11 days with regular visits from two dogs, but not with massive weight loss. She was 11 lbs. before the incarceration and 4.5 lbs. after. There were a few vet visits after that but she did fully recover.

little bro couldn't even take a legal drink, so sad to see them go so young.

my kitty is getting up there in years, she has Florida spots on her eyes and can't see so well anymore. she keeps getting into more and more fights with other kitties in the neighborhood even though she's 11 or so. poor old gay
