I have no problem with storms and my directv. only the OTA antenna is affected at all by the rain/wind in my experience. 30 seconds of static of the future (blocky / blackout) for an hour show and that's it.

this is on top a 3 story house next to an apartment building with a huge tree in the neighbors yard.

I went this route, and I'm happy I did. The picture is the same because I don't have a $500 dvd player and cable/dtv broadcast in 480p. 56"dlp > 47" plasma.

You'd hgave to spend $150 more on the mx-810 to do what the 880 did in terms of features I wanted, which isn't much. Also, the 810 has rubber buttons, which suck. So I'd have to get the 900 at the least, and that is a $300+ remote. I paid $115 for my 880 shipped to my door.

Well the issue is mainly in my apartment deal i am running of a few circiuts bridged out of the garage and it would be a PITA to run more lines and add more circiuts. After we got out 47 inch in the house i noticed that sucker uses like 5+amps and i was just wondering if the LCD's would not tax my electrical system anymore than that or maybe it would be more effecient. This realy isn't a budget thing it is more of a practicality of the juice i have available to me know thing. But puting it in terms of usage ie the bill was simpler than laying all that out. FWIW there are a couple of 50 inchers on sale at wall mart for 1200, and 1300 respectivly 1 a sylvania, and the other IDK the brand. The picture looks good on both but i would also have to rearange my entertainment system to fit it as well.
