Went to Le Mans and it was awesome. These cars screaming by at 20 ft. cannot be described. The 'vettes are so ******* loud and sounds angry it's almost frightening
Got back late last night. Should have some pics that a friend of mine made up soon.

You sir, suck. How much did the whole thing end up costing you? I'm really trying to make it next year if I'm not deployed by then (which I probably will be) plans to get to any more races this year?

Cost me the gas to get there as the ticket was a b-day gift from a friend. Tickets for general acces are €65. This will give you acces to all the training days at wednesday, thurseday and the race on saturday/sunday. Basically all areas except grandstands and VIP areas. Friday is the pitwalk aswell, which you can do with that very same ticket. Camping was €50 for a 35 square meter pitch for 2 persons, 1 tent and 1 car. You can actually do this quite cheap, given that you are already in europe.

Other expenses are offcourse food/drinks. They are obviously **** expensive on-site, so do you shopping in the supermarket and watch other people pay €7,50 for a footlong hotdog. Choice is yours obviously.

I've more or less decided to take the $$ out of my beer fund for the next few months to hit the German and Belgian Grand Prix's. Should be pretty fun to say the least.

Me and my dad decided last night to go next year. Fly into either Burssels or Amsterdam. Partis is closer, but then you have drive through Paris.

Basically camp there/sleep in the car and just observe the awesomeness.

With all these people talking about it there may be an unofficial MT.net beer drinking contest in France. My pop told me that if you shop around and book early you can probably make it there and back for about 800 bucks. I just got back to employment after 5 months out of work and I can swing that. Though now that I think about it that does put yet another dent in the car budget

KP, how long are you stationed there?

Now that would be cool. It wouldn't be hard to pick out the MT.netters, just look for the section in the stands where all the people are wearing pink shorts and kitty t-shirts.

A giant sign of a cat drinking some obscure beer from the BOD thread and people drunkenly yelling lulz and cursing CR.net and Hyper would be a good tip-off.

I'm "here" until 15SEP2011, BUUUTT, they're talking about deployment between now and then so I dunno how much I'm going to be around next year. Only time will tell, therefore I only plan a few months out at any given time.

People flying into amsterdam can probably crash at my place if necessary. Maybe get some big rental cars or an RV and turn Le Mans into a turbo infested sausage fest

In the words of Hammond from Top Gear, this has the stench of brilliance about it.

It really would be true. For another thing, the only shirt people on herew would maybe consent to wearing is going to involve a cat in the linlet of 40R anyway.

I should bring this thread back in like 7 months and see where we are at. This could end up being pretty badass. If you are in the area, get to Lemans next year You can show us all what beer is worth buying over there.

I think this is a sign that I need to start watching my beer consumption, I've got a rep on miataturbo for being the beer guy apparently, . Not sure what I'll be able to do for you in France as I've yet to make it there and I'm holding out as long as I can (I'm not a fan of the French for whatever reason) but we could all caravan back to Belgium after the race and I got you all covered on the beer thing. Hopefully I'll be around for the race, like I said I'm hitting at least one hopefully two F1 races this season just in case I'm not.
