And let's keep this thread worksafe (no images).
So, I'm as big a **** fan as the next guy. Being in the Navy and spending absurd amounts of time far away from the real thing will even corrupt the occasional chaplain... so with my very unguided moral compass, I have no shame.
I'm curious as to who on the forum might take their interest in the subject to the next level... I'm talking about who here has a borderline sick obsession. I have been eying a new 1TB external harddrive to take to the ship to hold all my movies/photos/music now that they're stupid cheap.
So, is there anybody on this forum who has the Devil's Own collection of e-**** who might be willing to share with a brother if I sent you a harddrive with return postage... I'm talking about you filling up a 1TB harddrive for me. I'm not too picky about content, but I draw the line at poo... no poo.
Just think of this as your way of supporting the cause... some people send Skittles and handi-wipes to Iraq... you can send something way more useful. Oh, and I share... everybody on the ship has portable harddrives... my buddies will sing songs and raise glasses in your honor.

The problem with using someone elses **** is you never know what you are going to get. Could be anything from giraffes ******* midgets to women ramming footballs in their cooches.

Sam...send me an address (PM) and I will send you a few DVDs worth to load on your own. Since I get new stuff constantly...I could keep them coming if need be.
BTW...Buffalo NAS with a TB HD is the way to go...HD AND NAS...so you can share. Just be careful on the boat networks...DoD monitors traffic.

I'm feeling everybody on the comments. Places like redtube, youporn, etc... are pretty standard for the occasional indulgence, but that **** is a "you go to jail and I'm not ******* kidding" offence on Navy computers. This stuff would never see a LAN, and even if I started downloading now, I'd never accumulate enough to last a six month cruise.
In any case, the internet connection on the ship is just about on par with late 80's dialup... ie, the original internetz.
On some of my past ships, there was always "that guy" who had the hookup... a huge box of DVD's or what not. 4 years ago when I was at sea last, the biggest external HD you could get was a 250gb and they were $400. Right now Ecost has several 1TB models at the $100 price point. This would be something I "loaned"... so maybe I should get 2x500Gb units.
