What rounds did you use in the grenade launcher?

 

I spent the weekend at my grandparents house in WV. Grandpa said that he shot an M1 Garand with a granade launcher during WWII. The army procedure was to shoot it with the butt into the ground but he said if you shot it like a normal rifle (and had 6-8 feet of clearance behind you for the "kick") you could aim it better and take out a tank's mobility. He said you shot a blank round to launch the grenade. I have seen some videos with people shooting tennis ***** with the thing and I think I will be trying that in the near future. I just need to find a place to do it. They have 88 acres in WV to play around in. I have 3/4 acres here in SC with a cop living behind me. Wonder what the city regs are for shooting grenades in your neighborhood?

So after having been to WV now (my girlfriend is from there) and being at a few "family" parties, I'm honestly not surprised to see a fire, or a chair IN a fire. My only initial thought was, "that's a small fire". That place is full of strangeness and fulfilled every stereotype I possibly dreamed up for WV.

SKS are fun to shoot, but inaccurate as hell. I have 2. One is new in the box, and has a fiberglass folding pistol grip stock in addition to the wooden one. The shooter has an aftermarket pistol grip. Both have the triangular bayonet, the N-I-B also has the blade type. Both have aftermarket muzzle brakes. I switched out the fixed magazines, and have 2 30-round chinese mags (real junk), and 3 eastern bloc ones which are nice. I also have a 50 round mag, which makes the thing really heavy. Back when I bought mine, I got 3 cases of ammo (1250 rounds each?), and still have about 1 and a half left. Buying that way made it less than 7 cents a round, so shooting is cheap. Really fun gun to mess with, but I'd hate to have to bet my life on it.

Question: what are the two little handguns in the lower right?

 

AK mags in an SKS can be a real crapshoot when it comes to proper function, unless you have a model D or M that was specifically made for them. SKSs are plentiful and reasonably cheap so many have been Bubba'ed into not working right, but with the original internal mag they function fine. You won't win any target competitions with one, but they are definitely "combat accurate." They are fun shooters but it sucks that the ammo for them is so expensive now. Just a few years ago it was <$100/case.

My grandpa was also in the Battle of the Bulge. He has a purple heart from injuries sustained when his tank was hit by a panzerfaust.

 

It killed him because he shot himself in the head with it. He also took cyanide right before pulling the trigger, probably because he knew that the .32 is weaksauce and he wanted to make sure the job got done right.

Look like .22's of some sort. My buddy had a .25 hand gun and man was that a blast to shoot. Can't remember how much it held but it was so damn fun. I always think that for just shooting **** for no reason, the .22 is damn fun.

Btw, I've shot AR's, Mini 14's, 308's, 30-30's and a few others, but I always enjoyed the .22.
