Default Look what we built... (shop)

My Pops bought 6-acres of interstate frontage land just north of a rapidly expanding housing development. His plan was to build self-storage and shop space on the back half of the land, and then eventually build store fronts and office space on the front half. He's looking at generating some semi-passive cash flow for retirement.

To cut down the cost on phase one of the build he solicited my brother and I to help him build this portion. Instead of paying us cash he offered to foot the bill for a 30x40 shop that we could share. So basically I have a 15 x 40 work area to fill with my projects.

We built trusses last weekend. My brother and Dad did a lot of framing this week after work. We finished up framing this morning, and then raised the walls this afternoon. Tomorrow we are putting up the trusses, and then hopefully next weekend we can get all the metal siding up.

Sorry about the shitty pics, but I forgot my camera this morning so the phone had to do. I will take the camera tomorrow, and get the trusses going up.

I am pretty damn excited. This should make my engine swap and turbo install a lot more comfortable this winter. I am sick of working on my car in my apartment's parking lot.

Just to the left of the shop are 2 120x30 that are separated into storage stalls and just behind the camera is another 30x40. There will be a fence between the storage and the two shops. Behind the shop you see in the picture is the rest of the 6 acres, and beyond that the interstate.

I live on the Llano Estacado. Its flat and there are no trees as you can see in the picture. Just a big plain great for grazing cattle, and dry land farming.
