Update so everyone knows what happened.

Jerry sent me a partial refund. Out of my $350 I sent him I got back $282.20. He kept $50 for the teardown, and the rest was for return shipping. Whatever, $50 isn't worth raising my bloodpressure anymore to deal with him. He's obviously a fuckface and his business will at some point suffer due to his lack of communication.

I mentioned that I got word that there are in fact shops that can get parts and repair the turbo. I then later stated that it didn't matter, and I was getting a entire new setup anyway. In this last email from him, he told me that was odd. Why would I get a new turbo kit if there are shops that can repair the one I have. I told him, at one point I was willing to pay him close to $700 for the work on my TD04. And now I just got a complete kit for a little more than half of that. I told him it's this ******* game we have been playing for the past 4 weeks that's odd.

I told him that he has no grounds to say anything other than "I'm sorry" and to send my back my turbo/refund. ******* guy is a dirtbag, stay away from Deadbolt.

They are over 3 hours away, I think you are closer than me.
Vash-I agree that this is the best thing that could have happend in your scenario, now you will have a proven setup from a reputable person from right here at MTnet.

the shop sounds like a bunch of idiots. they don't even know that the vr4 has a 9b comp wheel, they put a 12a! that alone tells me they suck with td04 variants.

I just wanted to put closure to this ordeal.

It took overall, 1 month exactly from date I sent the turbo, to day I received the turbo back. No work was done, but I was charged the $50 for the teardown and return shipping. PayPal took about 4 days to go from pending to refunded. I opened the box and it was packed well, I didn't know what to expect seeing I was more than dick to this guy by the end of everything. He sent the turbo back put together, but without the wastegate? Its not worth **** to me anyways now. I plan on putting the TD04 on the shelf as a decoration.

So all in all, this was a HORRIBLE experience with DEADBOLT. I would NOT recommend them to anyone after my experience.

As all of this was going on I was fortunate enough to buy Lee's FM3 from him. And I took the return money from DEADBOLT and used it to buy a LC-1 off ebay just now!

From now on any turbo work I need done will be locally, or I will read a book for once.

Jeff's company name should be called "deadbeat" instead of deadbolt.
