I'm talking about after all the house stuff is done. There is only so much you can do...laundry, take care of the kid, cook, clean...do schoolwork. The miata is running fine so not much to do there. The miata has always been my "hobby" but you really get to a certain point where you can only do so much at a time.

Sorry dude but you are now the bitch and your wife is going to leave you. No matter what women say, they will never respect a man who doesn't work and earn money. They especially will not respect a man that they support. It might last a little while but you just lost 2000 man points and are fucked no matter what.

How do you have a lot of time with a new born and all your duties at home. **** I'd think you'd have no time for anything between caring for your child, cooking, cleaning, laundry, running errands, studying / homework, school, etc. If you have extra time, I'd say spend it with your child. I also agree with the statement that said you will eventually feel bad about this situation for not being the primary household provider. I'm not sure why, but you will, every guy in a similar situation does. If they say they don't care or its not a big deal they're full of ****. I know in my situation I make decent money but my fiance makes about 5-10K more than I. Most of the time I don't give a ****, but sometimes it gets to me ....primarily when we get into it about where to allocate our money. I guess at those times I feel like I have less say because I "contribute" less. Then I reach down, touch my *****, think "I'm the man" and put my foot down

I'm not really worried about it. As a commercial pilot that is working on his CFI and will be interning with American in the fall, I am not exactly too caught up by the fact that she, for one brief point in her life, made more than me.
As regards to the baby, they sleep like 16-20 hours a day so you do develop quite a bit of free time. You also don't understand my work ethic. I get **** done and get it done fast so therefore I'm bored as **** very quickly there after.
But hey, great idea, I should sit in the dark bedroom as my baby sleeps...that will keep the wheels going.
Oh and p.s., we did the yard last weekend. I'm thinking it came out rather nice:

There are only minor things that can be done at this point since funds have dried up.
Buffed and waxed it yesterday. Need to send the ms back to brain for a little issue. Not really much to do.

Do the best possible with whatever you are doing. If I come home from work and the house is dirty I get a little irritated with the wife (don't say anything though or it will just get worse), and when I come home and the house is dialed I feel like she worked as hard as I have. Since you are the house bitch for now, be the best house bitch ever. When she comes home, have the place super clean, dinner ready, shopping done, clean out the silverware drawers, dust the frickin lamps. Bust your ***, or she will start to think you sit on your *** all day while she's working, and will start to resent you. Once that starts, it's hard to fix.
Your kid isn't going to sleep so much forever. Soon he/she will be awake a lot, get one of those things to strap on to your chest, take him for walks, do everything you can with him, and talk to him constantly. Let him know what you are doing and why, no mater how stupid it feels. You can't imagine how much he is learning right now. Your going to wake up soon and he will be 16, and you'll hardly know him because you were gone a lot due to your job. Make deep bonds now, that will help you through the later trials.
