How do you have a lot of time with a new born and all your duties at home. **** I'd think you'd have no time for anything between caring for your child, cooking, cleaning, laundry, running errands, studying / homework, school, etc. If you have extra time, I'd say spend it with your child. I also agree with the statement that said you will eventually feel bad about this situation for not being the primary household provider. I'm not sure why, but you will, every guy in a similar situation does. If they say they don't care or its not a big deal they're full of ****. I know in my situation I make decent money but my fiance makes about 5-10K more than I. Most of the time I don't give a ****, but sometimes it gets to me ....primarily when we get into it about where to allocate our money. I guess at those times I feel like I have less say because I "contribute" less. Then I reach down, touch my *****, think "I'm the man" and put my foot down . I think if I were in your situation where I was unemployed and not just making a few k less, I'd feel much worse. Come to think of it I'm going to feel a lot worse in about 2 years after she gets her masters and starts making 30K-40k more than me . I'm not really worried about it. As a commercial pilot that is working on his CFI and will be interning with American in the fall, I am not exactly too caught up by the fact that she, for one brief point in her life, made more than me.

As regards to the baby, they sleep like 16-20 hours a day so you do develop quite a bit of free time. You also don't understand my work ethic. I get **** done and get it done fast so therefore I'm bored as **** very quickly there after.

But hey, great idea, I should sit in the dark bedroom as my baby sleeps...that will keep the wheels going.

Soon he/she will be awake a lot, get one of those things to strap on to your chest, take him for walks, do everything you can with him, and talk to him constantly.
