should paint an old caliper red and put it on just for *****, thats pretty cool though. Reminds me of an old table I saw that was an old v8 block with the rod/piston assemblies holding up the piece of glass in the middle. Or the valve stem wine glass

One day I will do the same thing, its my dream to have a table like that in my living room.
That is ****, do want!!! Nothing says bachelor like a block coffee table/wine rack, sweet.
Your little end table looks pretty neat too, I would lay a very thin been of clear silicone on the very edge of the rim and let it harden before you put glass on it, plexi just wont cut it.
Go to a store that sells tables, buy one with a round glass top, go outside, load glass in your car/truck, walk back in saying this piece of **** didnt have glass in it and you want your money back. Just kidding, don't do that.

I made one out of a generic GM 350 block a couple of years ago, with a polished wood top. Spent a couple of days cleaning and painting the bare block. Wife said it wasn't going in the house. I saved the top, but pitched the block in the recycle bin at work.
Baller status. Deborah keeps bitching at me about getting a coffee table for the living room. Think a 455 block would be too big?
