LOL. My roommate just bought a '79 240D with about 215k on the clock for $1000. $8k is a JOKE.

Having said that, with a fresh 30k motor and a nice interior, that car is probably worth $4k or so.

Plastic those are not, BTW. That was back when the cars were still "needlessly overengineered". It does NOT feel 30 years old at all.

 

Yeah, I have a 2000 ML320 with 125K on the clock...bought it for $8K about a year ago...resale right now is $7,500...

Yeah...gotta say...engine ticks a little bit - kind of annoying (eventhough I rarely hear it, as the cabin has sound deadening material).
