Default Drill Bit for Aluminum - GS Radiator Problem

So I went to install my Godspeed radiator today. Whoever drilled the holes for the mounting brackets drilled them backwards.

What drill bit do you use to drill through aluminum?

My drill bit just sat there spinning.

Thanks.

You have a dull drill bit. Sharpen it or get a new one. Aluminum is super easy to drill through.

Then I honestly don't understand why its not doing its job.
Aluminum is so easy to drill. When it gets hot you might want to use a bit of the drill bit lube stuff. But other than that, is a piece of cake. Maybe you're just not pushing hard enough? I don't know

Aluminum is very soft, you should be able to go through it like butter.

Ding ding ding...I think your the winner. He probably did have it in reverse. I mean he said the bit was new and it didn't cut at all..."Just sat there spinning"....

I checked to make sure it wasn't in reverse when I started. It's a pretty low budget drill.

It did make an indention, just not enough to go through.

If its aluminum, then you have to have the drill bit spinning backward, its really really dull, or you got a drill bit made of wood. Seriously, aluminum is super easy to drill through.

Left-hand drill bit? Try drilling in reverse.

Is it a wood bit, or a masonry bit, or a bit for metal?

You could probably go find left hand fasteners instead...

You don't need a pilot hole, although it does help with accuracy and makes it drill a bit quicker
