Wink Car totalled

My car is totally wrecked, apparently the guy befoer me lowered the car as far as possible and every small bump would make my car hit the bump stop. Im thinking eventually that wore something out in the front left tire becasue on a corner I was doing about 60 and lost control after something broke in that tire, steering. The worst thing about it was my brakes also failed and i glanced off a tree and hit another one at 60mph. Me and my friend somehow lived i dont know how actuall he didnt have a scratch on him, I got kinda scrathed up becasue the glass shaddered in my door window and peppered my tricep. I also got a seatbelt mark my elbow feels thrown out and i got a steering wheel burn up hole forearm. It sucks pretty bad but I do get 8600 in insurance money and I think im gonna get myself a gsx.

Glad to hear you survived OK. Miata are known for sacrificing themselves for their drivers/passengers around here.

That really sucks. Glad you're ok. You can find a good NA with low miles for that amount of cash.

Nice, but if you go GSX, don't go thinking AWD will save your bacon in a dire situation. I've known a few people who thought that with their WRX's.

actually im thinking of restoring my 84 300zx instead it would be cheaper and I could get a new supra engine that would fit right in the 2JZA80. Anyone got any info on that I would appreciate the help. I could do that or the srt4 engine also fits in there.

Go for a WRX engine, plentiful and cheap and a low center of gravity.

GSX and WRX's are two diff cars. As far as AWD.. until you've driven a high HP built DSM with AWD, I would hold back the generalized remarks. The AWD system is pretty awesome, and they handle like monsters (with terrible turning radiuses). Either way, theres always room for driver error.

DSMs have a huge support community, and some REALLY machinehead guys (dsmtuners.com). They are easily built with simple mods, just be ready for crazy DIY repair work. I'm not biased cause I had a 98 gsx Oh, and WRX are teh suck (biased remark).

If you want to built a DSM monster deffinately get a Shepard Transmission... (sp?) Guy drives to the track with a sub 10 second AWD dsm on that transmission. YES as in he does not trailer it, he drives it in and drives it out.

Glad to hear your ok, AWD won't make a difference when a tie-rod breaks...Sounds like your steering geometry was really NFG, time to find a new tech..

Theres actually alot of DSMs that run their 1g's to the track and drive them in.. run 10-11s and drive them home. Its pretty unbelievable. So are AWD launches (or power-squats) as I call them.
