Make the kitty-free shirt... I'll start another thread about shirts with animals and turbos if I'm feeling frisky about shirt production.
No doubt y8s, a shirt will not make you badass. Just as a shirt will not make you gay if it has a cat on it.

The shirt does not have to be a turbo and con rods, but I don't see any better ideas so far. It simply comes down to taste. I'm trying to design a shirt that will appeal to everyone on the forum universally. While I know that will never happen, id like to make something we can all agree on. As you can see by the posts in this thread cats are not universally accepted as a good idea, a few of you have a hard on for some kitty action.. and as I said ill consider making those specialty shirts after we design one we all can agree on. I'm not saying my design is great or anything, actually its very rough and not yet ready for print at all. It was thrown up to see if anyone like the idea, and so we could evolve from it.

I fail to see how a turbo and con rods is "pseudo macho", I actually think its a pretty good idea considering how well it reflects the mt.net community(maybe if it had bent/broken rods it would better reflect the community, lol).

Now, instead of getting pissy about it lets come up with an idea we all agree on.. please?

I really like this idea.

Someone else said bending the rods earlier.

Incorporate this into hustler's epic angst.

If you're going to do the crossed rods I say they should be bent and/or broken so it doesn't come off as so serious. I still think the motor with the turbo is the best universal idea though. This with a sexy manifold and turbo would be win:

Nothing pissy here, just sharing an opinion.

Anyway, starting with a basic posterized turbo and I think the site logo is a good start. There's a design out there we can agree on. I'm lukewarm on conrods. bent is better, but something about them just seems pedestrian (i know that's some sort of irony right).

more later.

This sounds good. How about:

MIATATURBO.NET
:Picture of bent rods, maybe crossing each other:
Bending conrods since 2003

Y8's blue shirt/white text works for me. Just not super light blue.

What about a side shot of a BP engine outline simply... with a low mount turbo hanging off the side.... V band mount low. With a nice low slung exhaust going towards the side. "turbo no hit block" or the like on it....put the Miataturbo.net logo on the back. Simple and sweet. I think it was savington, or turbotim showing off their setup on the engine stand. Separate that and highlight the necessary parts.

Hate to leave out our sponsors, incorporate some stuff from them would help the community too.

Needs to have power options represented, thats what were here for.. too fancy, or rice will look a lot more Cr.net

I would totally be down for sum turbokittyz.

Also I like the idea of the bent conrods, but I'd like there to be turboz as well. I'm not much of a fan of words other than miataturbo.net on it.

Save the kitties for a second run batch. I'd bet that everyone who posted in this thread would buy a shirt without cats, whereas only half to 3/4 would buy a cat one.

I would rather have a shirt that I can wear to autocross, car meets, etc. that reps MT.net plain and simple versus having to explain wtf cats have to do with our hairdressers' cars. But I'll buy a shirt regardless. Without MT.net I'd still be on mnet.

Here's my take.. I suck at photoshop, so sorry about the blurryness in some spots.
I was thinking it might be cool to have the site sponsors listed down the side, under the arm (you know like on the side of a "race car") but maybe that's too ricey

I do like the blue kitty shirt.. def take a couple of those

How about something w/ the mazda logo? Maybe on the sleeve? Or will there be copyright problems?

Alright awesome ideas guys. As far as the mazda logo, there would def. be copyright issues.. so a no go on that idea. The bent/broken rod idea is great, but I could use some picture of bent/broken Miata conrods. If you have any please post them up in this forum, I dont really have the time to search every bent rod thread to find them.

Also, as far as the bp block blueprint, does anyone have a copy of the one from the service manual? Any ideas you guys have post up some pics, ill see what I can do with them. I am not even close to a photoshop expert, so any help in that area would be nice too.

One reason I like the turbo and crossed conrod idea is because most people would have no idea what it is. Most people could not recognize a turbo, and would be lost at the idea of crossed conrods.. but any gearhead on the other hand would know exactly what both of those are, and get the joke of the skull and crossbones reference.

The faster we come up with this and agree on something the faster I can get the shirts out. If we decide on an idea before the weekend, I can start the first batch then.

And please feel free to voice your opinion on the deisng/type of ****/etc in this thread.

How about instead of two rods crossed, have one single rod twisted around like a pretzel into a crossbones shape?
