Don't confuse luxury with quality... they've both been really bad quality for years. I'm scared if they've taken a real turn for the worst

I just throw up alittle, now I going to have see fuckturts run around in lancers thinking they are bad ***, some shoot me, Mitsu is going down hill again...

First they **** up the eclipse by getting rid of the turbo and awd, then they stop making the 3000, then they finally get the evo over here and then they **** it up.. someone bitch slap the designers for Mitsu

btw the 8 and 9 evos aren't bad, at least for what is the market now days.

I am hoping that now that the evos are aloud states side I can get an evo 3...

the evo 3 is still my favorite evo for some reason the front bumper grew on me, plus I can use 90% of the 1g/2g eclipse parts...hehe cheap power..

Rally Art?

Ralliart

From what I understand there's still platform sharing with Dodge, but from the Mitsubishi side to Dodge, not the other way around. I believe the Caliber sits on a modified Lancer platform and the Sebring and whatever else is spawned from Dodge's loins of that ilk are based on the Galant chassis if I remember correctly.

Also, it looks like there's a possibility of a Lancer Evolution hatch too!

So other than fewer horses and the "manumatic", is that all that separates this from the EVO? If so, smart ******* move! But it will probably steal some EVO sales since people will get the Ralliart and upgrade it to and/or beyond EVO specs over time.

when i orginally read the article on this it showed a fwd version to help keep prices down, i think that would be a good idea to stick with as an option.

Well fewer horses can meal alot of changes, you're talking what like 60hp? Even if it shares the same engine platform you can expect much different fuel systems, timing, ecu, possibly internals all affecting how much boost it can safely hold etc. It's probably like the wrx vs sti(minus the fact that it's 2.0 vs 2.5), about the same power differences but much different modding capability and ease of gaining power and reliability of said power.

im pretty sure they share motors in several cars...i know the eclipse and stratus are nearly identical cars
and they both suck

Watch the aftermarket guys like Vishnu go crazy on this car, and make it just as powerful or more powerful than a stock EvoX for less money.

im sure thats why mitsu decided on this, it will boost their sales simply because more people will be able to get loans since its cheaper and then they can modify them to their liking

Agree, but I still think thrifty shoppers will get this over the EVO. Internals may possibly be different but assuming they aren't, most of the rest should be fairly straightforward. EVO X still uses a conventional port injection/return line fuel system so I doubt that changed.

Yep. The 4B11 is born of a joint venture between Mitsu, Chrysler, and (IIRC) Hyundai. The Lancer, Stratus, Avenger, Caliber, etc. all use variations of the same engine.

The only reason why the U.S. market STi got the 2.5 was to make up for shitty lower octane fuel here. The rest of the world got the 2.0 STi well until 2006 when they changed the entire model range to the 2.5. I would imagine they still have a 2.0 turbo engine somewhere in the range to satisfy FIA homologation rules for the WRC though.
