Modified Car Insurance...
I tried Hagerty again, to no avail. I even lied about having a garage, and tried to tell them I had another car insured with progressive. They check those things lol.
Ended up paying 1424 with progressive, for 6 months. I drastically increased the personal injury payouts, in addition to agreeing on the 20,000 dollar car value. This time, I talked to a really helpful, cute sounding lady, who knew all about miatas. We were talking about miatas for about 10 minutes lol. She has a 1995 M iirc.

You might try a local independent insurance agent. They have more companies to choose from. I have travelers with 5k in mods but I think there was an option for more.
I am an independent in tx will check on monday.

I can confirm that Travelers goes to at least $10k as that is what I have on my policy.

Yeah, that... and i'm under 30 (+80/mo) have three violations in the past 5 years (+50/mo) and an at fault accident (+60/month) iirc what he/she was telling me.
Every single time a police officer has pulled me over, I've recieved a ticket. Never been let off once. I've been on the recieving end of two crashes (90 year old T-boned me, and 67 year old spun me out on the highway trying to merge) both of which the responding officer sided with the older driver. I'm not bitter or anything. :/
It's just money, I guess.

Just wanted to say thanks for the info in this thread! My Miata had been pulling daily duty but I'm likely getting something else to fill that time shortly and it looks like the Haggerty modified insurance could be great for me. I'll have a daily and the Miata can be garaged so it should work well for me.
