Default More Ebay car parts thoughts...

Our Integra needs a new front wheel bearing and the stealership wants 110 bucks. Parts stores are just about the same, the cheapest being 90 bucks.

This Ebay bearing looks like a steal in comparison:
Front Wheel Bearings ACURA INTEGRA / HONDA CRX 1500SI:eBay Motors (item 400049496570 end time Jun-12-09 06:11:45 PDT)

So, I know nothing about bearings, what kinda risk am I looking at here? Worth it? I've had a wheel bearing fail on a car before and its not pretty but can this really be that bad of an idea?

Parts America and other stores had similar pricing on tie rod ends and ball joints. OEM was slightly less than dealer, and no name was a lot cheaper. Like 20-30% of the name brand. Made in China, no doubt.

Do you really want to trust something as basic to the integrity of the suspension/braking/steering systems to parts made the cheapest way possible? More importantly, do you wanna have to go back and do the job all over again in a year or two when those parts go? My time is worth more than that.

Pay for real, proper spec bearings. You get what you pay for.

You could measure up the bearing and try the old fashioned way of finding one at an industrial supply place or whatever of the same specs. Since legwork is required, it will likely be cheaper, since it's from a real purveyor of bearings, it'll likely be higher quality.
