i feel for you guys, i haven't found myself to be allergic to anything yet, but my wife is a disaster, she went and got tested and the only thing they found was shellfhish which she eats with no problems yet sneezes all year incessantly. seems like they mixed her up with someone else.
My oldest son (now 31) got tested and spent about 3 years with weekly shots. He's much better now but allergies never go away completely.
FWIW; I read somewhere that pollen count is supposed to be very high this summer so I feel your pain.

I had a lot of food and environmental allergies as a kid, and after years of allergy shots, that's pretty much not an issue for me anymore.
I am still amazingly allergic to cats, dogs, etc. Basically, if I were to spend 5 minutes rolling around with a dog licking me and such, I'd wind up either in the ER or the morgue.
Claritin-D has really worked miracles for me in this department. I still get a bit of a reaction on the skin if certain breeds lick / drool on me (Boston Terriers seem particularly bad here) and I need to be careful not to touch my eyes after handling a cat or a dog, but I can quite literally lie on the floor for an hour with two Chihuahuas jumping all over me, licking me, sitting on my face and neck, etc., and have basically no adverse reaction at all.
Next time I'm back home in FL, I may try this Zyrtec of which you speak, and see if I fare any better around the Terriers with it. If I wind up dead, I'm going to haunt the **** out of you.
