Haha, says the guy with several different SM bikes. Those are as light as it gets! I love a light tossable bike, just like I love a light tossable car You'd like the XB, tons of torque and never really "falls off" on the topend. The only downside i can say about the XB is with it being air cooled when engine temps get high there is a noticeable loss in power. On a cold day, hold the **** on. Best part about them though is the (lack of) maintenance. No valve adjustments, chain replacements, etc. Just oil/primary oil and ride it.

Agreed on the twin loving, but I'd also go for 1 and 3 cylinder bikes as well. Most of the 4's bore me, but i did like the crossplane r1, and of course the aprillia rsv4 although I wouldn't have either for the street. Well the nekked rsv4 sure, but $$$.

Never getting rid of mine. She will be a classic and stay in my garage forever. I love it that much. The kickstand thing isn't an issue if you get the upgraded (05+) kickstand, or if you have an 03-05 bike most of them have already been replaced due to the recall.

When i leave my bike running on the kickstand it just looks like a wild beast waiting to break out of its shackles. never has though. lol.

They don't vibrate, they're just throbbing with excitement. And they only move on the kickstand cuz you should be riding it instead.

In all seriousness though... It did get pretty annoying how it would walk away on the kickstand.

Mine definitely does NOT move around when idling, lol. I just looked it up, and it's the 07+ kickstand that was revised. That makes sense because mine has an 07 engine/trans, and thus came with the kickstand (it's connected to the motor).

If you have an earlier bike, this is what you need. Although I do admit it's hilarious that the bike could potentially idle itself off the kickstand without the newer setup.

The toys put away for winter. Both in heated storage(the new garage). Will be nice not having them sit out in the cold this winter.

If a guy were hypothetically looking for a Z1000 upper triple clamp, which forum would not be a waste of time to poke around on?

I think I can use anything up to '09 or '10.

If I'm right it will let me put normal bar clamps on my Versys.

Thought I would post a bike of my bike:

1974 Yamaha RD350 2 Stroke. Bored .30 over with DG radial heads, Mikuni 34mm Flat slide smooth bore racing carbs.... V-Force reeds from a Banshee. Mono-shock/disk brake/electronic ignition conversion -very loud pipes. Benelli gas tank.

Sweet bike. I've got an old CB350 I will soon be converting to a cafe. I've always had a soft spot for those 2 smokes though!

I'll have to post some pics of a few of my bikes.

Nice. I sold a CB350 to finish this project... 2-stroke world is definitely different. -both good and bad.

SUPER sick bike. I love it, and now I want one. A 2 stroke 350 sounds like a hell of a street bike.

thanks.
It's a perfect "city bike" for sure. stop light to stop light is great. 2-stroke is very entertaining.

It also handles very nice: Trees, swingarm, brakes are ninja. very light, very nimble.

If you really want to build an RD 350, I can help you locate parts... There is a local guy who imports the Benelli gas tanks and makes custom seat pans. Just hit me up via PM.

Anybody have experience with a 1980s Honda CM450? Or something like it? I love me some old bikes, planning to buy a running bike and make a cafe racer build. Just wanted to see if anybody has done this to a CM before.
