Default my boost gauge....

quick question, when you have a boost gauge removed should it read 0? mine reads 10, should this be?

damn, when i turned down my compressor to about 5 psi and blew it into the gauge it read a 5psi gain, but to 15 and not 5, it was a freebie too..

10 what? kpa? atmospheres? psi?

most mediocre gauges (autometer) read 1-2 psi off at rest.

Defi cheats by making everything point straight down... so technically mine reads 30inHg of vac at rest

oh in that case see if you can move the needle. if there's a stop, figure out what PSI you'd have to put in it to read 10 past that stop

Most mechanical vac/boost gauges should read zero when the engine is off or the gauge is disconnected.

Electronic gauges cannot be counted upon to read any specific value when de-energized. Some will return to the lowest point on the scale, some will just jump to a random value, some will remain wherever they were when power was cut...

the only thing electrical about this one is the light i soldered into the back that was missing, the rest is mechanical
