Default My contribution to global warming (V8)

(crappy phone pics)

It's a 2003 540i 6spd with the "M Technic" package, (a bit rare) which stands for Mmmmeats. 8.5"(?) rear wheels with 265/35/18 and 235/40/18 tires, and a suspension tuned like the M5, some special trim and tupperware, and various M logos sprinkled around.

4.4L, 289 hp V8.

No paint swirls, clean black leather interior.

Mods so far: 545i short shifter. next: iPod or MP3 capability, and Evans waterless coolant to prevent the infamous radiator explosions.

I absolutely love the car. It's a brawler in an Armani suit, a velvet hammer. Fantastic suspension tuning. The quietness and luxury was what took a bit of getting used to. A car this size and this comfy has no business hustling along my nearby backroads as fast as it does. It's easy to dorifto, if I ignore the $ signs I see in the tire smoke. I'm so glad I let my friend talk me into buying it instead of an '03 TL (FWD). In comparison, this car is more luxurious, brawnier, has no torque steer despite more torque.

27 mpg with cruise set to 78 mph, but 16 mpg hammering it around town.

Very nice. Reminds me of the bmwfilms.com videos. I think for that one it was Clive Owen thrashing it around town with Madonna being flung around in the back.

Do they make a front bumper cover without the license frame molded in?

he's in CA so unless he wants to be paying fix-it tickets every other month I don't think he'll be rocking the plateless front bumper

I got the car for well under blue book, including the cost of repairs (2 O2 sensors, 1 cat, 2 bushings, 1 gasket)

That pic was just after I had it detailed last night.

And of course, today is the one day this entire month we get unseasonable June rain.

Heh, my miata hasn't had a front plate attached for like 8 years. Nor my M3.

front plate molding
Don't know, pretty ugly, huh? Maybe I'll put "bad cop, no donut" there.

I've had a supercharged E36 M3 (320 whp) for several years now, it's been running only about half the time. Now I don't know what to do with it, between the miata and this car it seems redundant.

Anothercrappy cellphone pic.

'M' logos on the sills, wheel, and gear ****. No cracks in leather, no interior meaningful scratches. Paint has no swirls. Perfect compression.

Pimpin' my cripple parking pass (busted my AC Ligament 2 months ago).

Did I mention I love this car? Driving it I'm a shark among minnows. I feel like a boss.

This song is apropos:

Technically, a 8 year old car is much more friendly to the ozone than a brand new one, so you're actually helping the environment despite it being a V8. Just saying that so you don't ease up on the right peddle because you're worried about the environment.

Title win, car win, curly win. He is right. My superintendent has a 6 spd e34? It is a wonderful car, and everything a sports sedan should be. Good pick my friend.

Aweseome car, one of the few I'd buy.

I've also been jamming Tosca for a decade.
