Angry NAshowdown95 scammer - share your experiences or info

After over two months of waiting and giving this guy the benefit of the doubt with all his excuses I've finally come to the conclusion this guy either A. Never had the parts he was selling or B. Never intends to ship them. IE: I've been scammed. It wasn't a lot of money ($50 for some stock suspension components), but I was counting on those to get my miata driving right. On top of that, nothing pisses me off more than a thief.

Has anyone else been ripped off by this guy? Anyone have any info on him. I'd sure like to see him get what he deserves for this (whatever that may be). In the very least I hope this thread can serve as a warning to others.

Here's the for sale thread. https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/showthread.php?t=18554

His email (the one he used for paypal): mastajamison_92@yahoo.com

I know him personaly, seems like a pretty cool kid. Is there more to the story? I am sure this can be rectified, just let me know if I can do something.

If you do know him and can talk to him that would be great. *edit* communication has been the biggest problem so if you can get me a phone number or some more reliable means of contacting him I would appreciate it.

I didn't expect problems, because he's been a long time member and has a reasonable amount of posts. He didn't appear to be a scammer. but here is the fun list of stuff I've dealt with throughout this.
-Just wanted me to pay shipping, but asked for more than shipping should cost. (I said OK, because it was still a reasonable deal and I needed the parts)
-Said the parts were ready to go, but then said two struts were still on the car and would take time to remove.
-Said he worked for UPS so shipping would be easy, then said getting a box to fit all 4 struts would be hard. Then finally said he shipped them via USPS (that was several weeks ago)
-Told me he was in the hopital. Don't know if it's true or not, but it gets added to the excuse pile.
-Has taken several weeks to respond to many of my messages, ignoring some entirely.
-Told me his friend also uses the account (his excuse for not responding)

I'm sure the list could go on, but I'm at work and don't have time to reread through all the PM's. Needless to say there have been way too many "little" problems that just don't add up. He said he shipped the parts and they didn't arrive, said he'd check with the post office and didn't (or at least didn't tell me anything), and has not responded to the paypal dispute I opened.

Actually, he was in the hospital, but that's another story, I agree with you, no excuse is good enough, he should have shipped a long time ago. I'll see what I can do to help out and get this resolved.
I do know that he works for UPS, and also hates UPS cause they suck in his opinion, so it is not unlikely that he uses USPS to ship stuff.

Well, I've sent him a message via MySpace. He's been active on these forums and still has not responded to my PM's here so I've had to go that route. He was active on their today and it seems like he visits my space regularly. We'll see if he manages to actually call me or ignores this one as well.

Zabac, I believe he was in the hospital and I wasn't at all upset about him not shipping then, but he was out of the hospital and told me they were boxed up and ready to ship in APRIL. That was more than a month ago, hence me feeling like I've been scammed. Do you have a number or address I could use for him? I have room for one more Pm in my box so you could PM it and not have to make it public. If he doesn't call me to respolve this today I'd rather just have a friend go over to his place and get them so I KNOW they get shipped out.

Actually got a reply via myspace (Thanks Doppelgänger ) so maybe this will go somewhere. I got a short snippy reply. He's accused me of bashing so in the interest of clarity and impartiality (as much as I can be anyway) I will simply post any further communication with him.

And for clarifications' sake (the context is not all in these messages), He did offer to refund half my money at one point. I told him I did not care about the money as long as I got my parts.

I'm hoping he just turns out to be an irresponsible seller and not a legitimate scammer. I can almost forgive laziness, just not out and out theft.

Seriously, this is getting old. It's been well over two months and I have no struts. You haven't responded to my PM's. Call my cell TODAY and tell me what's going on. (Phone number edited)

dude they were shipped OVER 2 weeks ago.
and i dont appreciate the bashing even when i offered to refund.

My last message to him.

You TOLD me they were shipped over 2 weeks ago, yet I have no struts. That was after telling me they would be shipped in a couple days, then not shipping them, saying the same thing again, then not shipping. You SAID you gave USPS my email, but I received no email from them. You SAID you'd check on the shipping data in the morning, but have not contacted me in over 2 weeks. You said you'd refund half my money, then didn't (which if I HAD received the struts I wouldn't care about).

Everything you've said you would or have done has not been born out. I don't even have a shipping confirmation number for Christ's sake. How hard is that? I have no reason to believe that you've shipped anything at this point.

And as for bashing, I've done no such thing. I posted what have been my experiences with you so far, nothing more. If you manage to get me my parts or refund my money I will post that as well, though neither at this point will not completely make up for the 2 1/2 month headache you've given me. I've never had such a crappy experience dealing with someone online.

Last thing, I asked you to call me. 1. I feel that I deserve a phone call after all this. 2. Maybe actually being able to speak to you over the phone instead of having to dance around the internet for different ways to actually contact you would help your credibility.

It sounds like you're being more than fair. Have you continued with the Paypal dispute? At this time, I think that might be your only route. To be perfectly blunt, this is exactly how scammers work their magic... they string you along with a short note or message every week or so saying "I'm on it" but nothing happens. When you call them on it, they try and make YOU feel like the bad guy by insinuating they've done anything wrong. When you finally are fed up enough, usually it's too late to do anything about it. At face value, it has all the content of a typical small-time internet scam.

Have you looked over my Paypal thread:

I read through it once. When I checked on the paypal dispute it did not show any open cases. I may have done something wrong while opening it, or it may have been beyond the dispute date. I suppose I should attempt to reopen it.

I talked to him over the weekend, he said he did ship it, and said he would respond to you. I hate getting in the middle of things that do not concern me so I will try to keep my involvement to a minimum. I will call him later tonight again after work and ask if it is ok for me go give you his number, I will not give out phone numbers out without consent as I know he is not a scammer, if I thought he was, you'd have his number already and we would have a huge scammer/pwnage thread, believe me!!! lol
I hope you guys work all this out, and reflect your dealings in our feedback section for all others to see and know about in the future, that is why it is there.

Also-you know you can delete some of your PM's to make more room in your messages folder, unless you are saving them for whatever reason, which then you should go ahead and get the paid member status, 500 PM's FTW.

Thanks Zabac. I appreciate it. I totally understand on both the not wanting to get in the middle of things and on the phone number. I'm thinking he doesn't want to talk to me, because I've sent him my number twice and asked him to call me. Oh well.

Might become a paid member, but I may actually sell my miata. (full time student and If I keep it I will have to boost it and the project will never end) I am saving the messages until this gets resolved. There's room for one if it's urgent though.

Just an update: Despite myspace showing him logging in nearly every day (at least every day I've checked) he has not felt the need to respond to my message. He has also logged on to this site and has neither responded to my last Pm or in this thread. He must have run out of excuses.

Any luck? I'm guessing not.

After getting no response (again) for over a week I've sent him another message asking for my money back. We'll see if he's got any conscience or not. I guess it's his chance to "take it back," at least as much as can be done at this point.

"I've given up completely on you sending the struts. Hell, I'm not even sure if you'll be good enough to return this message, because you haven't bothered with the last one. Either way, I'm going to go ahead and ask that you return my money. Then at least you will not have stolen from me and simply caused me a lot of frustration. You have my paypal.

-Sean"

VeganCowboy - What is it that you were purchasing?
I have 3 shocks off of a 91 with 45K on them. Don't know if that is what you were looking for but let me know if you need them still.

Filing a police report is a great way to get someone off their *** i've noticed. I've had to do it several times over the last 5 years with internet deals. I've noticed no one likes a cop knocking on their door inquiring about mail fraud. It's almost an instantaneous cure for laziness.

Wow, thank you. It was 4 shocks and shock mounts. I have 2 bad springs on my car and wanted to do some lower mileage shocks when I replace the springs (have a set sitting here). 187k of hard driving wears suspension down.

If you're willing to let them go I'd be grateful. I'm just lounging around working on cars today so I could paypal you asap. my email is my user name @graffiti.net

*edit* Thanks talusfan. I usually hate involving police in anything that doesn't absolutely need it, but with this being my first time getting ripped off I'm a little sore. I'm tempted, unfortunately I'm not sure where to point them to. Do you think a last name and email/paypal address would be enough? Are they willing to do some investigating or do they usually need all the contact info handed to them?

Well, so much for me trying to calm things down, it ain't my fault he ain't answering to any of your emails. I tried to bridge the gap, but I can only do so much. Do what you think you need to do, I sent him a text once I saw your post at noon, but he didn't text me back yet and I assume he didn't messege you either.
Good luck, I hope this gets resolved already, I have been waiting for my injectors for over a month so far, from this guy in WA state, keeps saying he sent them and actually responds to emails, but a month later and no injectors, I too am starting to worry. So I feel your pain man.
