Well, only reason I assumed that is because I know a few guys that work for Mini and Lotus dealers, and that's part of their job. Take these cars to local events, like Auto-x and give people rides to get them interested in it, it helps sales cause most of the older ayto-x'ers have money and old beat up cars, but when they see that new cars can be faster than their old trusted steeds, they come forth and spring up some dough and show up at the next event in a Mini/Lotus or whatever.
Smart move, and it's not the dealer backing this, it's the manufacturer.
