First thing you need to do is talk to your neighbor. It may prove to be futile, but you need to give it a chance. If the behavior continues, invest in a can of mace.

Oh, I've asked him, nicely and repeatedly. I just won't ask him again. He thinks I'm a ------ cuz I have a Miata so he cares little about my wheels, even though the wheels which his dog prefers to mark are the ones on my truck. But the main reason it's futile is because he's a tweaker. And as you may or may not know, there simply is no point in talking sensibly to someone on meth. I don't really blame the dog - he's just acting on instinct - and I sure as hell can't shoot him; a jarring zap would be welcomed, though.

Thanks for all the ideas, crude and otherwise.

If he's on Meth you have bigger problems than a dog peeing on your wheels you better hope he's not making tha crap in his house or else:

That'll be your Miata in the picture.

Riiight, I'm a bitch.

Nah man, I hear what you're saying, and in part, you're right. However, the truth of the matter is that I have A LOT more to lose than he does. Shoot his dog? Nope. Go to his house to start ****? Nope. Anything illegal? Nope. He's an asshair away from jail anyway. He's several blocks down the road and his closer neighbors are doing their damnedest to get him out. I want NOTHING to do with the guy. I'm simply looking for an interim solution.

found these online:

The pepper causes the dogs to sneeze and most dogs won't cross over it to get to the other side. Be sure to reapply after it rains.

Soak cotton ***** in ammonia, vinegar or rubbing alcohol and place them along the perimeter of your yard. All of these household items have strong smells that naturally repel dogs. Do not pour them directly on the ground though because they can be harmful to plants.

Purchase a commercially sold dog repellent and spray the perimeter of your yard with it. Many of these last through the rain and only need to be reapplied every 60 to 90 days.

Contact animal control to complain about the stray dogs in your yard. They should be able to assist you in the removal of the dogs. :quote:

Now that's what I'm talking about. Thanks for searching for me.

I'll go with the flour, pepper, pepper treatment first.

Airsoft gun's won't do any damage at all...just sting a little bit. My cousins and I shoot the hell out of each other with them in the 30 acres of woods behind my house...doesn't even hurt as bad as paint ***** do.

Do you see it happened? Can you catch the dog in the act? I bet you only need to catch him 2 or max 3 times with a water hose or a bucket of cold water before he learns that the truck is of limit. It is not about threatening the dog or forcing it to stop; it is more about informing the dog that it is wrong. Yell “NOO!” on top of you lungs and hose him down.

True. If you want to take a rational approach this is probably all it would take.

Paintballs work good on stray dogs and kids that cut thru your yard. If you don't like the mess, freeze the paintballs first. The kids learn faster than the dogs.

Wrap laxatives in pieces of bacon and feed them to the dog. Then take the dog home and tell the owner you found him wondering the neighborhood and didn't want him to get hit by a car. Most likely, the guy will bring the dog inside and nature will take care of the rest.
