Default New GTR got F-ed in the A

Morons, can't even drive a car that drives itself....Copied from another forum obviously...

without getting into too many details, i was in an accident in this gtr a couple of weeks ago. both the driver and myself survived after flipping and hitting a wall on the interstate. i broke my left leg (2 bones plus i now have a rod for a chin) and my right ankle. i still am unable to walk but am getting better...the driver was able to walk away with a pretty bad cut to his hand and a sprained elbow. i was in the hospital for almost a week. in all honesty we should be dead. big ups to nissan for making this amazing car so safe.

Wow! I was just wondering how long it would be until threads like this started popping up with wrecked GT-R pictures.

Holy ****, I think that improved the looks of the car!! 1 down, many, MANY more to go. Think Nick Hogan is on the waiting list for a GTR?

I've seen this thread on several forums now and every damn one of them has a Nick Hogan reference.

The only thing we need now is someone saying that "right before they wrecked they saw the blue screen of death on the dash."

This is why affordable supercars are a bad idea. Lets make a car that can tackle the big boys and price it so any Joe Shmo with a 401K and no brains can take a loan out on one.

You put something like this on the market and then tell everyone that it costs well under 100k and that its "supercar" fast... We now see why supercars are expensive. Not that anything could help the Enzo... BUT. What if the Enzo was the same, but less exclusive and under 100k? I don't think we'd see anymore on the road.

My point? I think I just realized why supercars are so expensive. EXCLUSIVITY. Its just like housing. As price goes up, so does class. You don't see weed-head low lifes jumping out of their Civic's and Daewoo's into Ferrari's do you? Maybe the GTR is under-priced. In which case, I don't think that even dealer markup can help us now.

more often then not the guys I see driving ferraris and bentleys are douchebags. In my experience money has little to do with how much class someone has. Lack of class and stupidity spans all social boundaries.

I think this accident actually improved the look of the car.

Well, the car assists a hell of a lot... but the fact of the matter is, if you are doing 200 mph on a city street and do something outrageously stupid... the computer can't fix that.

A good point. That is a flaw in my reasoning, but I think this is what I was really trying to say. The cost of the car is going to weed out the morons that simply can't afford such an expense. Can your idiot neighbor afford a base Corvette or a GTR? Maybe if he manages some money and gets things straight. Now, can your idiot neighbor afford a $120k car, Like a 911 or Mercedes SL? Not for a long time or without levying his property on the loan he'd need.

That'll buff right out.

$120K car driven with $10K talent. I may only possess $10K talent, but then again I only drive a $5K car. We all have our limits, but some people have to find them the hard way. Hopefully they didn't take out anybody else in the process. I was almost caught up in a wreck last year on I-95 that started when some wannabe racerboy thought he could take his IS350 around an onramp faster than he actually could, on wet roads no less. Dude was bleeding from every orifice in his head when I got to him. Fortunately nobody else was hurt too badly.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Further proof that as personal accountability diminishes, so to does common sense.

(Or to quote The Duke, "Life's tough. It's tougher when your stupid...")
