My GF goes through stages of wanting to help and does good when she does and then a few months later after endless hours in the garage she wants to do something else. I tried to explain it would take lots and lots of time to build a car but got the same response in then and now. First it is ok hunny it will be fine, now its when are you gonna be done. Next week it will be can I help you with any thing. I say let her help the worst thing that could happen is she enjoys it.

 

Its a motor pull, not a wedding or brain surgery. Jesus. Just say OK and go to it. Pulling an engine is not that big of a deal.

Personally I am more likely to get into an argument with the girly if we are stuck in traffic or attending some lame event that bores the hell out of me.

If she hates it, OK. If she loves it, OK. If its just meh, OK.

My girlfriend before my wife was a big help when it came to wrenching. She knew what tools were what, would get on my crotchrocket to run and get parts, etc. She was pretty bad ***, to bad I had to ditch her because she was a hoe.

 

 

My GF is learning. She helped bleed brakes but when I initially asked her to stomp the pedal she asked "which one?" lol She did some road tuning with the VE table on the way to HHR a couple months ago, that was cool.

I had a similar event at TX MC when someone helped me bleed my brakes and I someone asked "why is no fluid coming out?" The slave cylinder was working properly though, lol.

 

My wife is very helpful if I ask, but in exchange I have to go with her to watch other women bellydance sometimes.

She can tell you the four different cycles of a four cycle engine by name and explain them. I dig that.

And she didn't change after we got married. I think you just have to date long enough that the newness wears off. People can only be on their best behavior for so long before the real them comes out. But you can miss the warning signs about the real them if you are in denial or naive about them.

 

I think I read your whole post, but my brain only got as far as wondering "what color muff did she have?"...now what were you saying?

And that's why I advise every male I know to DATE as long as possible before even moving in or whatnot.

well update motor went out flawlessly and despite not knowing a ratchet from a combo wrench when we began the project it would smoothly and easily.
