99% of the time while I am in the neighborhood I dont go over 25mph, if I see kids playing in the street or even in the front yard I slow way down.
but this was late at night when no one was out except this guy, and the street is plenty wide even if someone would have popped out in the street I would have been able to stop and or manuever to avoid hitting them... I mean really it is a miata after all!

It just freaks me out that the street is where some kids play.

Seems pretty fuggin stupid to me.

Kids playing on the street is about bad parents who cant keep there kids in an apropriate place and defiant kids who will do what they want becouse they dont get punished for anything anyway.

I went out to get some distilled water for the radiator. I'm driving through the parking lot where three little kids were running on the sidewalk. The parent (mom) had crossed the street already and was not paying attention to her kids. Instead, she was talking to her friend. The kids went to cross, two older kids looked up, saw me coming, and stopped while the youngest just ran across, completely oblivious. He didn't even look my way.

Of course it's a parking lot, there's gonna be people walking, I was driving slow and saw the whole thing develop, but DAMN IT watch your kids please. It's not some (I don't know, maybe 5?) year olds fault, he's playing wherever he can, it's the parents.

I don’t know if it is like this where you are, but here the parking lots at wal-mart are like freakin play grounds. It seems like everyone leaves their kids either playing in wal-mart un supervised, or they just leave them in the parking lot until they are done shopping because they don't want to deal with them inside.
It is sad how many times you see a couple kids that are less than 10 years old running around the parking lots hiding between cars and jumping out, one of these days one of them is going to get hit, and then the parents will blame it on wal-mart because they can't take responsibility for anything.

This actually happened to a local swimming pool, a 2 year old kid drowned because his parents weren't watching him. ya the life guards should have been paying attention, but they have to watch every kid in the damn pool, you would think parents would realize this and watch their own damn kids.
They didn't admit fault after it happened they blamed it on the swimming pool and made a big deal about how horrible the employees were.

I hate the general public.
