I haven't done too much with mid stepping. I'd generally keep it to 3 ranges, and when I do I max out min exposure and max exposure. I guess it'd really depend on the kind of day or weather etc. but i've been itching to play with some more photos. You can do a lot with just post production, levels are a photo mans best friend.

I've played with HDR a bit, but I didn't take a wide enough exposure range. Around here, the shadows are so deep that there's just no way to take any decent pictures outside the golden hour. Even playing with levels doesn't help. With HDR, I can fill them in.
