Pokemon GO.

Beyond having to go outside and standing around in order to play aspects of the game, I've played more complicated Atari games.
The actual "fun" part of the game which is going out, hunting down, and finding new pokemon to catch is broken. The pokemon nearby radar in which you require in order to home-in on them is broken. That's HALF the game right there. The main part of the is broken. But they were too eager to release a broken game to the world, causing all sorts of more issues instead of fixing issues that's come up in the beta.
Capturing them, once you find them is no challenge whatsoever. you have to slide your finger and toss a ball.
Then you're required to go outside and stand at gyms in order to fight the pokemon you happenstance collect.
fighting them is clumsy and stupid. it consists of sliding to dodge (which is almost impossible to time correctly) and tapping to attack. My mildly-retarded flaccid ***** could do that.
In order to do better fighting, you can upgrade your pokemon. But you cannot learn new attacks, you cannot learn new button combos for better attacks, you can't upgrade HP vs Attack power. it's dumb.
Then if you happen to beat out a bunch of other pokemon at a gym, you can hold it. and collect coins. the coins are used to buy shitty items that you can already get for free in the game.
If you want to play this game on the toilet, there's not much you can do but evolve shitty pokemon that just waste space in your collection. This game is extremely locationist.
Its only so popular because people like pokemon, and the concept of going outside to play was novel. But until the developer can fix a huge flaw in the game, and then actually make the game purposeful, everyone will stop playing soon enough. Cuase there's simply no point in playing.

Between the latest iteration of the Nearby Pokemon function being entirely useless, Niantic cease-and-desisting all of the people who had a viable alternative, and me losing a half dozen pokemon to failed catches and immediate run-aways, I'm pretty displeased. Not quite ready to give up, but close.
