Default Polaris Slingshot (1700 lb, 170 HP, 3 wheel toy)

I just saw this the other day. It's basically a track toy packaged as a 3 wheel motorcycle to avoid emissions and safety requirements. Priced at $20k it seems pretty reasonable.

I'm still questioning how well a 3 wheeled vehicle handles but they claim 0.9g's lateral acel. But all of the reviews give the vehicle positive comments on handling.

What's you thoughts on this? Do you think this would be a fun track toy and canyon runner?

isn't the reverse tricycle design the gayest thing ever that was attempted by bugatti or something decades ago and killed off?

I remember Leno talking about it in one of his garage shows

at least the reverse tricycle handles better than a normal tricycle

you're absolutely right on that. on the other hand this is already built, financeable`, and (because it's a motorcycle) insurance will be 200-300 a year.

is anyone else thinking what i'm thinking... It has a ecotech motor, just swap in a saturn sky rear end..

I bet five people get killed in the first year, and insurance goes through the roof.

I do think they're cool, and want to drive one, though.

Motorcycle insurance doesn't pay out medical payments. learned that one the hard way. after skidding on the highway @70mph, i got a nice big -o- bill in the mail.

polaris got together all the top hack designers fired from design firms after 3 months, pulled them into a boardroom with a large assortment of bros and a budget of only 3 wheels and this is what they got.
