Heh, considering the OP called out the whole forum in his supposed "dp" post, I'm surprised you guys let him off that easily.

Edit: thought OP said he was an E-5 and was going to accuse of falsifying rank - but he only said he intends to pin on later this year.

It's been like this for a while. Every time I get advice from some one in the Air Force, it's always the same thing, "Do it because it's easier." Well, I don't want easy. I want to work hard and work a lot, have recognition based on the success of my work, not just because I went through the motion.

No offense to other people in the AF, I'm not comparing all of you to 2dik.

It happened really fast, even by MT standards. Started out innocently. Then the troll was exposed and it was off to the races. The intense part only lasted ~1 hour. It's all over now.

Check out the negative props on 2dik. That has to be some kind of record for negatives/minute.

You know, that only gets you so far IMHO. I'm in the navy and there is no other branch I'd rather serve in, but that is because I LEGITIMATELY think of all the branches to be a pilot the Navy is by far the best. In my experience, the Navy teaches you to be very good/professional, while still giving you a bit of a leash to enjoy yourself.

Air Force pilot training is very rote, and kind of Mickey Mouse with the ditty's and games they have to put up with. I have a few friends who did primary in Vance OK, and they are clearly behind the power curve in general situational awareness, simply because they never did anything outside the box (taxi to A, then B, takeoff, etc, EVERY FLIGHT).

Outside of flight training though, if I did any other job, I'd seriously consider the AF, unless I wanted to like, kill people with my bare hands. Marine's go on a lot about "honor this" and "pride that" but at the end of the day, we are all getting paid the same, doing similar jobs, they just have to put up with more butt pain and miss out on some bonuses.

^My .02 If you are joining a service specifically because it's more "difficult" or "hardcore" than the others, you will enjoy your choice about as long as your first contract lasts. Then you'll realize how sick you are of arts and crafts, and that this is still a job. That type of thinking doesn't make a career.
