he should have let them pass, he nearly took them out a few times when they were quicker in the corners. his line was horrible.

i remember trying to catch an evo once, i was faster in the corners but i had nothing on the 1/2 straight, the more aggressive i drove, the sloppy i drove and the slower i was, i never ended up passing him cause I was trying too hard. The dude in the video doesn't even have anyone to pass, he's just a slow aggressive driver.

I never even look at the cars in front of me, there in my peripheral vision, but I look 2-3 car in front of them. I also try to stay 2-3 cars back, as it helps with overtaking becasue you can get a run on them. Nothing worse than the guy in front checking up in a corner.

its called don't use one, or in the least tighten yours too much.

 

It looked like he started with prop valve set to the rear too much/trail braking too much then added over heated greesy tires.

 

I like when his motor starts to smoke too.

 

I've been told I came very close to being black flagged when it was looking like I was about to pass someone in the turns. I never follow their line but do follow very closely. Otherwise they don't expect me to be fast on the straight so they don't let me by. Great story huh.

I agree, slow aggressive driver, but it still looks like he's having lots of fun. Short course too, only 60 second laps.

 

This is why I love Hallett. I was driving John's naturally aspirated miata in a session a couple years ago and I was all over some dude in a supercharged miata was holding me up...so i ran door to door with him into the corner, held mine line, and made the pass. They're reasonable there...at the tracks in Dallas we get in trouble for passing more than 2-cars per straight, my record is 5, lol.

 

They're sticking all the first-timers in a god damn lead/follow group so we'll be in the same group. Thanks though.

i have a video from hallett that needs to be edited and uploaded. I chase down a guy in a 250whp miata and ride his *** for a whole session, as he won't let me by. The next session, I catch him, stay behind and get around him. He tried to ride my ***, but after 2 laps, couldn't keep up. I thought he was a dick on the track, but a cool guy in person. He had everything done to the car except suspension because his wife drives the car. All my car has is suspension and lightness. Interesting comparison.
