A direct lineal descendant of the original 68000, The Dragonball was arguably the first complete system-on-chip architecture which combined the computational ability needed to run "serious" applications with the small footprint and tiny power consumption that made it possible to do so in the palm of the hand. Originally a major player in the Palm platform, today, its successor (the i.MX) is now found inside every Kindle and every Ford vehicle with Sync.
By contrast, there is not yet a PonyBall processor, to the best of my knowledge. I may suggest this as the design codename for the new FPGA design that we're working on right now at PR&E.

Who's hating? I'm analyzing what I find to be a fascinating social phenomenon- conflict between extremist fangeek cultures based not on religion, ethnicity or choice of operating system, but on their opinions as to the relative merits of cartoon depictions of various types of brightly colored magical creatures.

I dont think youre a hater Joe.
Evangelion is cool and all, but its not the best thing ever, and Im not sure its the best thing to recommend to just anybody. What I know of Joe, and knowing that he has seen Cowboy Bepop (-and assuming he enjoyed it. I mean, how could you not?), I would be inclined to recommend the following, in no particular order:
plus some other stuff I cant think of

I'll leave this one here since no one ever seems to have seen it
I'm not a fan of most anime. There's a serious obsession with ninjas and mechs. A few that I actually liked are Death Note, Shiki, Another, and Samurai Champloo. Berserk would have been good if the ending didn't suck.

On VHS, son.
I'm with Mark and Joe on this one. I enjoyed a few, Cowboy Bebop and Vash, Aeon Flux on Liquid TV, along with the aforementioned Ninja Scroll, but that was about where my enjoyment ended. I did enjoy the Animatrix(?) series of shorts.
I used to be pretty into anime like 10 years ago. Not comic con level, but I 've watched a ton.
Back in like '95 I was watching Evangelion. I also grew up on Aeon Flux and Ghost in the shell as well.
Trigun is probably my favorite though hands down (obviously).
I've watched some of the strange, less popular **** over the years too. Most of the time high as **** at 3 in the morning. lol
But whatever it is with the my little pony fad, its ULTRA gay. There is absolutely no way in hell anyone could try and tell me that **** is anything other than gay as ****.

On that basis, I downloaded season 1, and made a serious effort to enjoy it during a trans-Atlantic flight. Got through the first couple of episodes, and I'm sorry, but I just couldn't get into it. I couldn't tell you why, it just failed to hook me.
I do appreciate some of the artwork that surrounds the fandom, but as for the fundamental concept of the show itself, it just did nothing for me at all. To be completely honest, I get into the whole pony theme much more easily, in terms of what I know of character development and the humor which surrounds the series. It's lighthearted, least funny and amusing to look at, which is something that I don't intuitively sense from the various anime / magna genres which have come and gone.
Perhaps I can blow your mind a bit more:
That's just the trailer. The whole documentary is something like 2 hours. It's not on Youtube, but if you knew where to look, you might find it lurking within a certain Bay of Pirates. (Click where it says GET THIS TORRENT next to the picture of the magnet. You'll need to have uTorrent already installed first.)
Curiously, the executive producer of this documentary was a fellow by the name of John de Lancie, who some might better know as Q from Star Trek:
It turns out that when he's not meddling with the affairs of the 24th century, Mr. de Lancie has found the time to become something of a Brony himself. He voices a character on the show, and has become actively involved with the fanbase.
I ain't gonna argue with Q.
Explain to me, *why* exactly it is gay as **** to watch a cartoon about colorful magic ponies, whereas it is apparently straight as **** (is that a thing?) to watch a cartoon about colorful magic cyborgs? Or Pokemon? Or... whatever?
I mean, my primary TF2 server these days is called "Pony Fortress 2" and contains character models that have been re-skinned as ponies. As compared to the majority of the other servers I've played on, I find this one to be a bastion of civil and mature behavior, devoid of idiots, children and mic-spammers. (And yes, some of the furry-er elements occasional show up with sprays that are... needlessly graphic. But it's a small price to pay.)
Same reason men don't generally wear dresses, Joe. It's clothing; there's no reason a man can't wear one, but they usually don't due to culture. Rainbows and ponies are accepted as being a female association. It's the same with the colors pink and purple and basically all the colors of the MLPs.
I'm not saying there's a problem with liking them. There's also not a problem with a man wearing a dress, but some people think there is because it doesn't fit their idea of society.
