I was just about to test the Miata and do some final tweaking on my current setup (It's spent ~1 month in the air to date).
Then I realized "Wait, in about a week, it'll be down yet again for more tweaking".
This Miata seems to spend more time being worked on/fixed then actually driving :(. Anyone else seem cursed with the same fate, or is this normal?

Haven't driven my car since 04/07/10 and I almost don't care. The thing has started to rot far beyond recovery, the brand new top had a hole in it already, and is just a yard ornament in general. Two weeks ago I strategically positioned the car in such a fashion that when my new neighbors tree (which is 98% dead) falls it'll likely crush the thing into oblivion then I can part out my coilovers and other garbage laying around.
On a serious note, I actually spent 40 minutes today working on a new engine for it. Thought I got burned on a motor purchased off Craigslist in 2005 which I discovered was locked up after the installed engine let go. Tore it apart and found the rings had just seized to the cylinders from sitting and had a bit of surface rust. Got out the dial bore gauge today and started measuring things up to see what I've got to work with.
That's what the four cylinders look like. Number 4 had a ball hone run through it right before the picture was taken. Original plan was to run a ball hone through and file fit some rings until I measured the cylinders and saw numbers of their actual condition, now just going to buy some OE fit rings and measure clearance. This motor couldn't have had too many miles on it.
Something (I don't know what) has sparked my interest in getting a motor put together and finish (Start?) my turbo install. Have had everything except time for almost three years now, just need to get my *** in gear and spend some of the minimal freetime I've got and just do it. Depending on Weather My goal is by end of March to have the motor installed and hopefully April to complete turbo.
Bets?! Place your bets... (I wouldn't bet on success of the project by the "deadlines" if I were you.)
