Default A very exciting haircut.

Remember how I just gone done repairing 22 years worth of body damage on my car and re-painting it?

Coming back from Fry's during lunch, I decided to stop into Tony's barber shop for a haircut. Business was pretty light- just one fellow in the chair and nobody waiting, so I sat down on the end of the big, comfy sofa and whipped out my phone to send an email.

In this photo, I'm sitting to the far right of the couch, closest to where the front window used to be:

In the past, I've heard about how people supposedly "mistook the brakes for the gas" as an explanation for "unintended acceleration" (Toyota, et al.) and always sort of thought "Meh, that's impossible."

Turns out that it isn't.

The nice fellow in the Lexus managed to jump the parking stop and drive his car several feet into the building, coming to rest with his front bumper about an inch from the hat-rack and about two feet from me. Lots of glass flying about, but fortunately it was a tempered window so no sharp shards. Ripped the steel grating out of the foundation, which is probably what absorbed enough of the impact energy to stop him before he crashed into the sofa.

Made a hell of a noise.

In this photo, he has already backed out of the building, but the car came to rest quite literally about an inch away from my front-right fender.

Immediately after taking the above photo, I jumped into my car and moved it (which is why it's not visible in the first pic, which was taken later) as he was pretty dazed and I didn't want him hitting my car in the process of getting out of his.

Tony was amazingly cool about the whole thing. He finished the customer in the chair and then moved on to me, so I got to give a police statement while having my hair cut, which is a first for me.

^ That music was ******* gay. Great video though.

All the areas were cars were at 50%+ throttle just further prove the NB will never be nationally competitive in STR. :(

I got carried away buffing :/ the rest of the hood looks fantastic. That happened on the drivers side corner near the cowl. Oh well, it's a learning experience.

I went for a drive last night, tried my panorama thing on my phone, didn't work so well.

What I was trying to get...

And how the fender looks after wet sanding, buffing, polishing, and waxed.

What did you do to the hood? Held the buffer on 1 spot too much and overheated the paint?

Yeah, I was working that last spot with the buffer and should have let it cool or move it to another spot. But I was almost done, but not now lol

The official call was "no pitch" so the ball is immediately dead.

The bird was pronounced dead a short time after.
