There exists a very short list of things that I refuse to disassemble. The list is not in physical form, but it exists, nonetheless.
A microwave oven is probably on that list.

When I was in my young teens I tried to make a CO2 laser, you could buy tubes on ebay for less than $200, but the power supplies were bank!
I tried to use a CRT flyback, but it wasn't quite enough current to maintain the arc, so I tried two CRT flybacks in series.
**** didn't work, but I managed to shock the ever living **** out of myself. Only time I've been hit hard enough to not remember what it was I was doing seconds earlier.
No more, nope, that was the end of that experiment.

In TV, we use a lot of microwave transmitters for long-distance, high-bandwidth communication. All of our remote trucks are equipped with them to beam signals back to the studio, and we use a microwave link to transmit our signal from the studio to the transmitter at the top of Empire.
They're relatively low power (5-10 watts typically) and highly directional, but I still refuse to go anywhere near the front of the waveguide when they're operating.
A microwave oven will output a kilowatt or more, and when the magnetron is removed from its housing, they're pretty omnidirectional.
Nope.
