[heavy] Some other think they can outsmart me. Maybe is true. But cannot outsmart bullet! [/heavy]
I'd been out of town for a couple of months, and didn't have much time to play after I got back until the past few days.
Had a really great couple of rounds last night. Hooked up with some fellow playing as Medic and we had a hell of a good Heavy/Medic team dynamic going. I must have gone through 10,000 rounds of ammo in the tunnel exit at Pipeline B (terminal) just hosing down the exit from enemy spawn and de-life-ifying wave after wave of engineers desperate to erect sentries.
Lately, I've been exploring the merits of playing as Pyro. He's a soft, squishy little bastard, but can be very useful in those sections of the Payload Race maps where Spies tend to congregate.

It's just masturbation.
I mean, no professional video editor in their right mind would have a Scanimate in their studio rather than an Abekas DVE (or these days, a desktop PC running Adobe AfterEffects), so why do the musicians persist in this belief that it's "cool" to own expensive, obsolete, noisy and hard-to-use equipment?
This is a Scanimate:
It was state-of-the-art in 1979. It does ѕhit like this:
It is not in any way superior to this:

Try sucking less.
Who are you playing as? IMO, Heavy and Solider are the easiest characters to get started with. Heavy is tough to kill, and easy to inflict damage with. Soldier isn't quite as robust, but his rocket launcher makes him effective at great distances.
Also, I suggest the basic Payload maps as a starting point. They tend to be a bit less frenetic than the Base-oriented maps, and give you a chance to explore the various player strategies a bit more easily.

Keep at it! it has a crazy steep learning curve between understanding what each character does/can do. and how to effectively use each character. Also, while using heavy and soldier is a good idea. dont be afraid to try other characters as well. Everyone kinda has a niche character in my findings. At the very least every person has characters they are better with. gotta find out who. That being said though, heavy and soldier are easiest to grasp.
