I looked at this car a while back. Dead sexy IMO. I ended up going w/ another Miata but I thought this was a pretty good deal for a super clean '90 240 Coupe w/ SR and A/C. $5000. I've got no affiliation at all, just tought someone might be interested.

I don't think I'll ever find that moment of ecstasy in the middle of a "drift". I'm just too much of a humanitarian for curbs and tasteful wheels. Not to mention tires.

curbs? This i legitimately don't understand.

Tasteful wheels??
(um. so i guess everyone should just drive on RP F1s it'd be so cool...) Oh wait some people do drift on those. and volk TE37s. I actually have no idea what this is based on. I've never seen rediculous obnoxious wheels on a drift car, i've seen cheap wheels, but no chromed out heavy SOBs. unless you are talking about lip..but that's all about fitment, though a good lip is nice looking.

Tires. well...yeah tires, but lets face it, the people smoking tires that you'd use for street grip or light auto-xing are really only pros sponsored by said tire manufacturer. Most people who are in grass roots are using old 4 seasons or just cheap tires. I've never drifted on a fresh set of tires so, in my mind i'm giving new life to something that was wasted.

Then you've never been in one worth feeling that way...
There shouldnt be curbs involved either..
As for tasteful wheels, we all have opinions and they are all like ******** right..??
Tires, they are made to be destroyed..

Now I've been sidways. But that was only accompanied by the feeling of, "Oh shitI'mgonnadie!"

But I don't think getting sideways in a front wheel drive car is the same.

Very true. One of the many components on a car that HATE torque.

I was just... ******* back? lol. I am just joking. My reference to being sidways was a long time back when I tried following an MR2 in a FWD car. Went around a sweeper at about 65ish and the rear end stepped out when I let off the throttle a little. BIG MISTAKE.

If you drift with a car meant for that sport, Hats off to you. Street buttsecks (i.e. curb smashing)? No no..

ok I'm prepared to be flammed......

Have most of you ever tried d r i f i t i n g? and not getting sideways around a turn by your house or doing donuts, but like legitimately going to a local track when they hold a drift0 night? It's actually very fun and a lot harder than it looks.

Yea it kills tires, but thats why you dont keep putting NT-01's on them and you settle for dz101' at 50$ each (15's) thats even if you wanted to go brand new, almost any tire shop let you take used tires for FREE because it saves them from having to deal with getting rid of them.

I'm not saying it's the best thing in the world, but it is fun, and dont knock it till you try it.

I used to "drift" every chance I could on public streets. Oversteer is fun. Yes, I was inspired by initial D. If you haven't seen that cartoon or read the manga, it's actually quite cool. I did do it cheap notsosticky tires and I think it's actually much easier to do well on stickier tires. All those "drift" cars in import tuner and super street do look very damn fine too. I would like it if my car looked that fine.

Saw a totally ragged out miata today with a bunch of lame *** stickers and a poser bodykit. Forget it, it's starting now. RWD, boost friendly motor, huge aftermarket, and most of all, cheap. If it wasn't such a 'gay' car it would have already happened. Do yourselves a favor and pick up a spare miata before they're all gone or magnificently overpriced. :(

OP should look into Sth FL and NY craigslist...few of them on there now for under your price range that seem fairly unmolested...
