rattle can crew: helmet paintinginging

I bought a white helmet today. Is it feasible to assume a layman can pull off rattle-canning a helmet satin black? Think it would be cheap to take it to a paint shop?

And if you had any ******* clue how a helmet worked, you'd realize that the whole ******* thing's no good either!
One impact, one time, head or no head, DONE.
I'll just repaint it, maybe slap some bondo on it. After all, it's just my helmet, nothing important inside.
They all seem really concerned with the paint fumes though. Go figure.

Take heed of the warning on that link though. Solvents in general weaken helmets. If you're not careful it will look great but fail to protect you when you need it most (but I'm not one to talk, my helmet is like 5 years old and been dropped more times than I can remember

Get a hold me sometime when your back and drop off your helmet.....I can paint it for you. I have several examples to show you for quality, if your interested.
