the vortec blowers are pretty bad *** on a vr6.

 

yeah, I've helped install a powerdyne on a friends mustang, since it's alreayd peppy as hell on the low-end, it's not bad considering. however, the output on a 1.6 miata just plain sucks imho. 2 hours and bolt on greddy and you've pretty much outmatched that rotrex.

 

A centrifigul on a 4 cylinder is just about the worst idea I have ever heard of. A Vortech V1 S-Trim tears **** up on a Vr for sure.....just not quite as much as a T4 60-1 though

 

yeah, at only 8psi it made the car a low 13 with no other mods. which was fine fwiw.

my problem with the said rotrex defenders is they keep posting this one dyno plot:



talking about how great it is, how much more than stock it is...yada yada yada. that's fine, when you're on the track then it will work, but man that guy, as good a driver as he is, should know that any other setup would be so much better.


then i decided to actually compare it to Phil's 6psi GReddy kit, so not impressive....a simple greddy kit with minor mods would beat the **** out of it. too bad no one has cared to comment on the comparison....

 

Especially considering 6 vs. 8 psi

 

I helped install a centrifugal on a friends lt1 firbird. That ****** really moved and sounded really ******* nuts. Then he put a front mount 88mm turbo on it, then it was dominating until he broke a rod and shot it through the oil pan.
