Apparently nobody told you that Hoboken has been yuppie-central since the 1990s.

Did it ever cross your mind that the only people saying he's innocent are a pro-gun columnist and Mr. Aitken himself?

Not one link there goes to an objective news article about his case. (It's not an "article" that you linked to; it's an opinion piece. The author's bio states: "David Codrea is a long-time gun rights advocate and writer. A featured columnist for Guns Magazine, his articles and his online journal, The War on Guns, defiantly challenge the folly of citizen disarmament.")

Do you think someone like that is telling you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?

In fact, Google News doesn't even return a single result for a real news article about this case.

When I did a wider search on all of Google, using the terms "Brian Aitken" and "gun", there are dozens of results -- all from gun nuts.

Some in the pro-gun and/or conspiracy camps would argue, "That's because of the liberal media!" ..... gimme a break ..... there are no real news articles about Mr. Aitken because his case wasn't newsworthy. Just another dude with a gun.

Just because the criminal and his supporters say the gun was "legal" doesn't make it so.

As for your "Screw NJ" post -- if YOU are that dumb, then we don't want you here anyhow.

I wasn't trying to make it political. Just saying the OP needs a reality check.

This thread isn't about guns or gun control. It's about whether a local government did something stupid. I say the whole thread is moot because the OP didn't grasp the context of what he read.

edit: PS - I couldn't care less where this thread is categorized; just saying it's really not political.

PPS - Yes I'm feeling defensive about my state!

I remember it, along with Jersey City, being a real ******* blight every time we'd zip over to Manhattan via the Holland tunnel.
